Welcome to Grandpa Status...

 

I tried the Fendrihan shavette today for the first pass with a Derby Premium. The pass did remove whiskers and as well some skin. I had weepers at the corner of the mouth under the lip and at the bottom of my neck. I finished the shave with an Aristocrat JR. and a GSB. The Vulfix 660 Super Badger whipped up the Chiseled Face Sherlock into great lather with enough slickness for the Shavette and my weepers were from user inexperience. The Rocket Jr left me BBS, but the damage from the shavette left me burning, but there was no lasting damage. I will use the shavette for the first pass for the next few shaves to see if I can get some semblance of proficiency.

Fabulous face and head shave.
Loaded the Wunderbar with a new Gillette Green, I'm becoming a fan of these blades. I have the urge to use MWF every once in a while.

This is my first time using the Bic blade and I gotta say, what a blade. This is one sharp blade as I found out during my first pass. I was out during most of the afternoon, so my shave was late and I just went too fast on my first pass. I didn't have any weepers, but it did cause me to have a bit of irritation afterwards. I slowed down with my second pass, and you could tell it was a quality blade. There are only a couple of blades that will come close to giving me a two pass BBS shave, and this is one that'll be added to that list. Two passes with just a hint of touch up for an excellent and smooth BBS shave.

Spending the night here at the Best Western in Creedmoor, NC, on the way to Yorktown VA.

The TABAC Shaving Cream face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #199 synthetic brush. I did the two passes with the Gillette 195 razor and Personna Super blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva Sensitive 5 in 1 ASB. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

Does the scent of the Aqua Velva balm match the classic splash?

 

Another Friday afternoon shave getting ready for date night. Two new items: Fine Platinum soap and an Omega 11137 Boar brush. Rest of the set up: Captain's Choice bowl, my vintage Fatboy with a new Personna Lab Blue blade, Dove after shave balm and Fine Platinum after shave. Excellent shave. I have the American Blend Fine soap as well. Just as it lathered very nicely so did the Platinum. I have used the Fine Platinum after shave for some time - nice clean cologne scent. The scent of the soap I found to be very close to the after shave. I have two other boar brushes which I use all the time. I'm sure this Omega will fit right in. A bit scratchy - as they all are on the first run - I'm sure it will soften after a few weeks of use, just as the others did. Beautiful sunny day here in the great northwest - heading out to our favorite restaurant

 

Tonight's shave was with a recently acquired, restored, and honed razor. I had a very nice and smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BDBS. Zero issues. I do like using and honing these old Wade & Butchers.

Razor- Wade & Butcher, Keen Shaver. Sheffield England.
Brush- Semogue 1800
Soap- Lisa's Natural Herbal Creations "Tobacco & Bay". Very nice mild scent. I'm not a big fan of Tobacco, or Bay, but this stuff works together.
Aftershave- Vintage Avon Spicy
