Shave of the day

Pre- Hot shower, Anna and Claras sandalwood bath soap
Soap/cream- TABAC shaving soap
Brush- Semogue 1470
Razor- Gem Micromatic open comb
Blade- 009 RD
Post- Cold water rinse, Aqua velva ice blue aftershave lotion and Nivea Sensitive cooling aftershave balm

This razor and soap combo was so good, i had to do it again!

Great shave! I accidentally opened my razor a little mid shave without noticing, it was harsh but I noticed something was wrong and checked it. Darn, I could have hurt myself if the blade fell out of the razor.

Finished with Aqua velva, for an amazing post shave feel

Early morning Shave
After surviving a long night of illegal fireworks going off most of the night, I was up at four and started the day off with a lovely shave! Plenty of coffee was a necessity…

That's a very nice and COMPACT travel kit. I need to get me one of those travel techs =D

I'm gonna take out my proraso mini omega boar. Use it a little haha. I remember it was very good! It creates A LOT of lather =D

 

Are they illegal? Haha

 

In many communities they are. But this doesn't stop the use.

So much lather. This morning's lather production was so extreme that I was glad to be using a well-knurled handle with a hexagonal grip; it was still slippery but not dangerously so. The slipperiness helped make day 4 with the Bic stay comfortable and smooth, with no nicks or weepers, though the alum did produce enough burn to let me know that pushing past 5 days is unlikely to be wise. The matching balm soothed the burn nicely, even if it won't absorb well in my skin. DFS+ results, overall.

7/05/15 - Savon A Raser

I really like the clean scent of this soap. A lot of Shea Butter but so far it's a good post shave.
I'm gonna try a different blade tomorrow. The R2 and M2 plates both were very uncomfortable shaves.

I have Fatboy fever! This razor is amazing. 3 pass smooth as silk, irritation free. Semogue 1305 again made easy work of the Provence Santé Green Tea, I'm really starting to like this soap/aftershave.
In San Jose it was difficult to tell what was a firework or gunfire.
A better tomorrow. Takes your best today!

 

The vert and green tea, sounds very interesting. I see you are starting to like that brush =) mine is getting better aswell. I gave up bowl lathering, now I'm hand lathering =D

Another great shave this morning. I think after 10 shaves this blade is just about done. I am starting to get the hang of the MWF. Finished off with a splash of Floid Blue from my sample pack.

Stirling Ozark Mountain today. 20 seconds to load the ER Silvertip. Great, easy, thick, lather. Gillette Platinum in the Fatboy. Great smooth, close, shave. I finished with Pitralon Classic.

Testing my Shaving Soap with Different Oils​

I am still testing my shaving soap in any possible condition I can. Different brushes, different water hardness and, now, different pre-shave products. While I am using the very same straight razor - the very last Mastro Livi New Grind, the last one of a long and glorious series - this time I used Floïd shave oil instead of my pre-shave oil. The soap seemed to perform excellently and seemed not to be particularly affected by this oil, although I admit my pre-shave oil seems to do a better job on this regard. Shave was impeccable as usual and, of course, thanks to this amazing and unique Mastro Livi straight razor: not just a piece of history, but also an excellent and breathtaking beautiful masterpiece.​
