Was it the first time you used the supermax platinum in the tech? It could just be a bad combination or just a bad blade.
Sorry to hear that! I wonder if my medication is the culprit for this tingling burn-like sensation that travels around my skin, I bet it is.

No shave today due to a very early start of an all-day road trip. No sense shaving now, I'll just let the Weber take care of those nasty stubbly critters tomorrow morning. Great week of shaves Gentlemen. Thanks for sharing!

Sunday: My favorite shave of the whole week: #6 Horsehair Dovo Bismarck 5/8 Noxzema SC Lubriderm unscented moisturizer Pinaud Bay Rum AS There's nothing like being able to relax and take your time so you can focus on getting a perfect shave, and that's exactly what I did this morning. First, a good shower followed by a couple of hot towels, and then a nice facial massage and then some more hot water, and then the lathering up with my FAVORITE of all creams. (I also suggest that anybody who's into straight razor shaving try a Dovo Bismarck 5/8) Although I still have quite a few Noxzema tubes, I don't want to use this stuff often because once they're gone, that's it - there's no way to get any more of them. I just love the Pinaud Bay Rum, and Madame hates it. Ah well, you can't win 'em all!

Sunday Hot shower Derby soap Vulfix 404 Clauss 9/16 Illinois 827 Cold water rag Alum Booster Mosswood 2-pass CCS Trying to decode the label on the Derby stick made me think there was menthol in it. If it has menthol, I could not detect any. Still, the soap is good, shaves like Arko but has a different scent, as does the Tweex stick, all three were trade items from my pal Dale.

I think the razor has a better bite into the beard with a two-day old growth but, I still like to shave every day. I enjoy my daily "Moment of Zen". lol The La Toja is about used up....time to break out another tube of this great stuff. Enjoy your Sunday Gentlemen!
Great shave today. Be even better if we can get today from the Cards. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
Super Sunday Early morning shave...5:00am 1. Quick face wash & hot cloth soak 2. Homemade PSO 3. Soap: the last of Mike's Natural Shaving soap- Bay Rum 4. Brush: Maiden voyage of my new silvertip badger brush 5. Razor: Merkur 38c Barber Pole 6. Shave: 3-passes, plus touch-up 7. Post: Styptic pen touch up; followed by 4771 aftershave; soothing Pre de Provence balm New brush: first time using the 30mm silvertip brush; whipped up serious lather in no time. A bit too watery though; the brush holds considrably MORE water than my previous brushes, so Ill need to shake out some of the excess next time. In my haste to finish, I managed to nick myself 2-3 times—which is unusual. I could blame the soap, the brush, the dull blade—but more than likely, it was due to crack-of-dawn operator error.
