Bruce, so long as you follow up the Williams with a healthy splash of the Veg, you're still okay in my book! ;)

After: Fine Classic After Shave – Platinum

My first cold shave! I have to say it went rather well, but to be honest it didn’t come out any better or worse than my regular hot shaves. The only real benefit I detected, other than being refreshing on a humid morning, was that the cold metal of the razor was somewhat soothing on the dome...

The VDH Luxury Shave soap face lathered well with VDH Natural Boar brush as cheap soap month continues. Today, I used my new vintage J.M. Schmidt straight razor for the first time. I was going to just do my right cheek, but that went so well that I switched hands and did my left cheek as well. I finished off with my Schick M Adjustable and Schick stainless blade. After a second pass, I had achieved my close, comfortable shave. A cold water rinse, followed by Thayers cucumber WH and Mennen Skin Bracer after shave left me clean, smooth, and refreshed... Since my strop won't arrive until Saturday, I will wait until then to revisit the J.M. Schmidt.

    Personna Lab
    Stirling Black Ice
No aftershave unless I absolutely need it, then Osage Rub.

This is my setup until Monday while I am at the camper. This is a bare bones shaving kit, the bathroom is about the same size as a really small closet. But What the heck, it is camping; only with a bathroom, water heater, gas range, microwave, AC. you get the picture. But I draw the line at a TV, I have books, CDs and most important, a fishing rod. My site is next to the lake.

    THURSDAY
    **My Evening shave**

Another early start in the morning compels me to have a nice, relaxed shave this evening. Four AM sneaks up quickly and I've still plenty to do tonight.
This Griffon straight was another one of those rare vintage ebay razors that was actually in decent condition, but I had a heck of time setting a good edge.
With my new Naniwa 1k stone, however, I finally achieved a nice bevel and the resulting shaves have been outstanding.
Its amazing how much better I am at shaving when I have a sharp razor. :D

    Have a blessed Thursday everyone…..

BBS again without a lot of effort and so frigidly cold - the Glacial Lemon Chill soap is one of Rod's latest and nicest creations. What a lovely lemony/menthol scent, what fantastic lather, and what a menthol bombardment it gives, with perfect skincare. The 444 balm and the Barbon aftershave are something else - they both feel so brrrrr cold and beautiful. I needed all the cooling I could get because our weather is so hot lately. :) :D
