    Thursday

Prep: Hot Shower-Stirling Scots Pine Bath Soap
    Soap: Maggard Fougere Sauvage
Razor: Gillette Super Speed Red Tip
    Blade: Gillette Platinum (5)
    Brush: oscar11 TGN 2-Band Finest 24mmx50mm
    Aftershave: Fine American Blend

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angles for my beard)

My “lost” Maggard Fougere Sauvage showed up along with my Fine American Blend AS sample. As expected, the Maggard soap generated a great lather. Combined with the Fougere Sauvage, my 5th shave with the Gillette Platinum in the Red tip was excellent. I finished up with Fine American Blend. Unfortunately, this is also a great scent! Make room for another AS.

Get ready to be bored, I'm going spartan for a while. Prep might be the best shaving soap I've ever used. I really like this stuff. It has a medicinal smell, I think noxema, my wife says clove, either way it doesn't hang around for long. Incidently, Prep was supposedly formulated in the U.S. in the 1860's. Have a good one.

    Prep: hot shower
    Razor: WW2 Gillette Tech
    Blade: BIC platinum (day 2)
    Brush: Vie-Long
    Soap: Proraso green
Passes: 2 (WTG, XTG) + touch ups
    Post: Arko Ice Mint

The BIC seems to give its best shave on its first use. Day 2 with this blade was still a great shave. Finished the shave off with Arko Ice Mint instead of witch hazel for a mildly cooling effect.

I forgot my wacky tacky at work last night, so I went with the petal pusher wax this morning. The blend of the two waxes were doing their best to encourage the "English" styled handlebar...

    Prep: Warm shower, Cetaphil Lotion
Razor: EJ DE89 Head w/ Weber Classic Handle
    Blade: Voskhod (2)
    Lather: Cella
    Brush: VDH Boar
    Post: Witch Hazel, Cetaphil Lotion
    Aftershave: Old Spice

I think I was still asleep while shaving this morning. I was going to use a sample of L.A. Shaving soap that was PIF'd to me, but I used too much water and it was really thin. I didn't have time to experiment, so I pulled out the Cella and it lathered right up. I normally make 3 passes -- WTG, XTG, ATG. Today, for some unknown reason, I went WTG, ATG, XTG. I realized halfway into my second pass that I was had skipped the XTG pass, so I added it to the end. The result was good, but not great. Oh well, looking forward to tomorrow when I have my first straight razor shave!

    Have a great day!

    Tabacstag!
Another amazing Tabac shave! The soap performed as always, this time I used my Plisson Synthetic to get into the milk glass jar because I'm running out. No worries, I've already got a refill puck waiting to fill that glorious jar. I'm tempted to just push the new puck in on top of the remains of the old now, but it will feel good to use it to the end.
The Synergy Bay Rum Tonic works great with Tabac, the scents compliment each other, the soap and cologne. This is my first use of Tabac cologne, obtained from a generous PIF on TSD. I love it as I love all my Tabac products. Thanks JR!

    Prep: RR/HTGAM lime menthol

    Brush: Plisson Synthetic
    Razor: iKon ShaveCraft 101

Prep: Hot shower, Healthy Accents Daily Renewal cleanser, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
Soap: RazoRock One-X Tallow Croap :love055:
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (1, 2)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma Alum, Dickinson's WH, RazoRock One-X AS Splash

Can you tell I like this croap, yet? I skipped yesterday's shave due to sheer laziness, and - as I indicated - decided to reset my baseline of expectations by going back to using the Bic for a turn. As ever, it produced DFS results in 2 effortless passes, with nary a hint of irritation or bloodshed. I even nearly skipped the alum, because it seemed unnecessary. The temperature today is warm enough that the very mild menthol in the One-X did provide some cooling, by the way.
