    Prep: Clear Essentials glycerin soap
    Soap: Dapper Dragon unscented
    Brush: Whipped Dog synthetic knot
    Razor: Schick injector, type I
    Blade: Schick
    After: Cold rinse, CeraVe

I recently received a new synthetic knot from Whipped Dog that I am planning to mount in a Bethlehem olive wood handle. The handle looks great, but I wasn't satisfied that the thin coat of varnish on it would be durable enough, so I sanded it down to bare wood and I am taking my time applying several coats of Tru-Oil linseed oil finish. I'll assemble the brush in a few days.

In the mean time, I wanted to give this knot a trial run. I did a quick face lather when I got the knot to compare the feel to a "Virginia Sheng" Pur Tech knot that I also purchased. The VS knot was disappointing, nothing like a Frank Shaving Pur Tech. It felt scritchy and scrubby on my face. The WD knot had backbone but was still comfortable and soft. It is a keeper, even though I am not crazy about the black tip look.

I got a good face lather with the Dapper Dragon soap holding the knot in my fingers. It became a bit slippery and messy, but I managed to hold on. ;)

Good three pass shave from the Schick injector.

Probably a similar experience to when I use my Pee-Wee Scot....hands covered in lather, but it does the job. ;)

Getting ready for a trip to Minneapolis to the Shriners International Imperial Session so things are getting very busy. Trying to get all my work done in the cool mornings as it was 104 degrees here yesterday and it too hot after lunch to do anything outside. The Gold Bond lotion and the Witch Hazel are very refreshing and cooling on days like this. Have a great day and stay cool my friends!

    Omega 10083 Boar (Proraso)
    Cella
    Floid Blue

The verdict? I read an article yesterday on another forum about how the 1912 was the greatest shaving implement ever created. I think he wasn't kidding. Didn't feel like it was cutting but the audible feedback was like a shaving aria in the bathroom I had to turn the taps off to listen to it. Rinsing my face it proved the efficiency of it, just did 3 passes because I loved the feel, easily could have got away with 2. The Gem blades are indeed long lasting as well, it mellowed ever so slightly but you can easily feel there is lots of life left in it; I'm gonna try to use this baby for a week and see if it makes it.

Yep, I get bored using a particular type of razor (straights, DE's, SE's, Injectors, clam shells...just kidding) :D and occasionally switch off to another style for awhile. I guess I'm on a DE binge right now as a change of pace. Gotta show the DE's and the rest of the razor collection some love and keep them happy. :) I have had the Merkur 38C around for a long time; I just don't get to use it as much as I should with the number of razors in the rotation. It's a great shaving razor. :happy088:

My 1st ever head shave! 2 showers today. It was still dark when I shaved my face, so I waited for the added sunshine :happy005: In the bathroom. Wow! Not BBS, but very nice! I did have a couple of weepers. I'm not sure if this will become my new style, but I do like the coolness. Stirling nice and slick!
