This MMOC is a mean razor. You really have to slow down, or else you'll get bit. I got some pretty visible irritation on my throat. That was probably just due to my technique being bad though.

Now, onto the P.160. This is only my first shave with it obviously, but my thoughts on it are really good. The lather was really good and easy to build and the skincare is above average. Except for my throat area, my skin was well moisturized and the shave was smooth aside from my throat area.

@Ryan B I usually like the stainless GEM blades but the carbon steel Treets make a huge difference in how smooth the MMOC is for me. I actually refuse to shave with the GEMs in the MMOC.

    Shaving Cream: Nivea

Generally, I don't prefer shaving creams, but this Nivea's shaving cream is great. It moistured my face well and it smells nice, too. But I can't say the same for Nivea's Cool Kick Arctic Freeze Gel. It's a total failure for me. It doesn't even cool, but the good side is it moistures well and not sticky.

    Sunday - no menthol today!

Hot shower followed by two hot towels
    Large Horsehair Barbershop
    Super Speed/Sharp day 7
Golddachs Spezial SS :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: (from Germany, and awesome)
    Lubriderm Unscented Moisturizer
    Sir Canada Cedar AS :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055:

It took a lot of psyching up for me not to use anything without menthol this morning but I said to myself "Jeff, you have so many other nice soaps so grab the Golddachs!" and that's what I did. This stuff lathers so well, smells really old-school and nice with very good skincare. The Canada Cedar aftershave was sent to me from Germany quite a while ago. I tossed the Sharp after this shave because it's pretty well done. BBS again in two passes. ;) :D

Can, I agree with you about the Nivea Cool Kick. It gives almost no cooling effect. Nivea also makes a Cool Kick face and body wash which is said to be very cooling but I feel no menthol from it at all.

That's right Jeff! Nivea is widely known for its honesty, but the advertisement about this product on its label is wrong according to me.

I know you cannot make a product that appeals to everyone, but my initial impressions of RR P.160 is that it is an over hyped marginal product that is heavy on the scent and light on performance. It works, but so do a lot of other soaps. This one is going to be put away for a while and re-visited down the road to see if anything changes.

The end results of the shave today were good as usual, but it wasn't an overly pleasant experience.

    Father's Day
I used Tabac today because it reminds me of my father, who used it when I was growing up. I remember the scent more than anything, coming from his mug. I could steal a whiff when he wasn't home to savor. Years after he passed, my sister gave me his old mug with a few brushes. In the bottom of the mug was the remnants of a puck of soap, no longer viable, which had long lost it's scent. I like to think it was his last bit of Tabac. I don't have kids of my own, so on days like this I remember my Dad. Happy Father's Day.

    Prep: RR/HTGAM lime menthol
    Soap: Tabac Original
    Brush: Plisson Synthetic
    Razor: iKon ShaveCraft 101
    Blade: Personna Lab Blue

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Soap: RazoRock Cumba Cheech
    Razor: FaTip Piccolo
    Blade: Baili (3)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (6, 7)
Post: Cold water rinse, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, RazoRock Cumba Cheech ASB

Day three with the Baili - having skipped Saturday - and I was beginning to think it had broken in correctly. Outstanding lather from the RazoRock, as usual, and I got two comfortable passes, albeit not particularly close ones. Then, I went in for. . . a little touch-up:
    Show Spoiler

Which is a reasonable rendition of how my face felt. The balm helped for a couple minutes, but my face still burns, and the results are barely above what I typically consider a SAS. Into the bin with the Baili, and on to the Perma-Sharp Super in my Merkur 41c tomorrow.

It was a very nice shave today. I used the Made Rite synthetic to bowl lather the Cella SC. Two passes with the Gillette Fatboy and Derby Extra left me with a close, comfortable shave. After the cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Cucumber WH and Mennen Skin Bracer AS. It left me clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Sunday:
hot shower w/Grandpa's Patchouli bar soap
    Homemade PSO
    Frog Straight 2 passes
    Eversharp Hydro-Magic 2 passes
    Schick (2)
    VDH Deluxe boar
Dr Dittmar soap in a warm bowl
    Thayers unscented w/aloe
    alum
    Brut Dominant AS lotion

No weepers but a couple of blood spots and a bit of irritation this morning. I can usually blame irritation on the lower portion of my neck to poor technique with a straight but everything else is getting blamed on the Hydro-Magic. It's only the 2nd time I've used this razor but both times have produced the same result. I may have the angle wrong but it just doesn't seem to shave me as well as some of my other injectors. I'll keep it in the rotation for a few more shaves just to see if I can get a better shave out of it.
Couple three things that came in the mail this week. A bar of Grandpa's Patchouli with Aloe Vera bar soap, a puck of Dr Dittmar, and a bottle of Brut Dominant. Quite happy with all three.
Happy Father's Day to any dads out there!
