    Shave of the day

    Pre- Hot shower

Soap/cream- Arko mashed into a plastic bowl with lid.

    Brush- Plisson synthetic

    Razor- Mühle R89

    Blade- Wilkinson sword(2)

Post- Cold water rinse and Nivea ASB with 3 drops of homemade menthol additive

Not the best shave today. A close but not irritation free shave. I need to practice more in my trouble spots. Also the soap/water ratio was a bit off, but it was Arko, how bad could it be =P

rmcintyre84 Got out of the kitchen

    Tuesday, June 10 - late-afternoon, pre-Skype interview shave
L'Oreal Icy Gel Face Wash, 2 hot towels, lather, hot towel
    Proraso Preshave - Sensitive
    Whipped Dog Synthetic
    Nivea Sensitive Cream
Merkur HDC w/Gillette Silver Blue (1)
Cold water, cold towel, Thayers, alum
    3 passes - W, X, A, touch ups

After 2 skin-peeling days of shaving, I wanted to take today off, but couldn't. So I went back to a razor/blade combo that's always worked for me. I did, however, use a new cream, which was probably a mistake. The Nivea Sensitive whipped up a nice lather; I had enough for at least two shaves. But maybe I should have tested it on a day I don't have a job interview. Results: rough shave, with lots of irritation. After nine months, it seems like there's more luck than skill involved in my getting a decent shave.

    Adonis;
How do you like using the Pacific Shaving Moisturizer, as an After Shave Balm? I like their PSO it's good, but a little on the expensive side. $6.75 for 1/2 oz. (15ml.) according to the bottle.(The size) When you can get 3.37oz. (100ml) of any of the Stirling PSO for $6.85.

That's good to hear. I tried my VDH Boar brush the other day, I really did not get it to lather well at all in my VDH Mug with the Luxury Shaving Soap in it. I can't even get a good lather out of my VDH Boar Brush, it works well in the Williams Soap and the VDH/Williams mixed. But no way near as well as any of my Badger Brushes even the VDH Badger brush that I got in the kit. (Maybe that's why I got it for $.99 in the close out barrel at CVS Pharmacy).
Maybe I will find a new handle and then get a TGN Boar Brush or a Boar Brush from WD.

    tonight's shave:
    hot shower prep
    de long 20/60 best badger
Coates tea tree for sensitive skin
    39c Merkur slant
    persona lab(1)
    Florida water
    nivea a/s balm
tonight's shave was out of necessity itching like crazy after two days. Sun did a number on my face.three cold sores two on upper lip together, one on bottom. had to shave, except mustache area. no d/fs- thanks guys for the remarks, I do take measures for the sun. but last week they are not sufficient. now I look like I'm growing a stash. New de long brush, no smell, no hair loss, really big, tons of lather it's a nice brush for less than twenty bucks. tea tree was sorta medicine smelling, but my face needed some medicine. I think I can harvest my beard for silver tips, get g ray hairs with only two days growth. clean now no itch
    y'all have a good night
I'll do pics of new brush with tomorrow's shave
p.s. never get Florida water in/ on or near a cold sore. bad mojo trust me

That doesn't sound like much fun either. The most fun I had was when I broke my radial head (elbow). That's when I learned to shave with my left hand.

Not a very good shave today.

Prep: hot shower, Neutrogena Face Wash.
    Brush: Turkish #6 Brush.
Razor: Gem MMOC. First time use.
    Blade: Gem Stainless.
    Cream: Barbon and then Ingram.
Post: cold water rinse, Barbon AS.

This shave started out good until I got to my throat. I got some weepers and some bleeding. It all went away when I splashed cold water on my face, but still. This MMOC is like a Fatip on steroids. It has a lot of feedback and will let you know what you're doing wrong. Tonight it was the lather. This Barbon cream wouldn't stay for the life of me. I rinsed that off and re lathered with the Egyptian Ingram. This stuff improved my shave greatly, but I was still pretty pissed about the Barbon cream not working. The Barbon AS did exactly what it was supposed to. It burned like hell, but it tightened up my skin and made it somewhat better.
