Thursday: Lord Smart razor / Sharp Stainless d2 / ARKO SS / Omega Sintex brush / Old Spice Aftershave

The Omega Sintex produces tons of lather with the Arko. Too bad it can't be a warmer lather.

*Really* can't get the hang of Thusdays...

    Razor: '57 Red Tip
Blade: '54 NOS Blue Blade day 1
    Brush: VV badger
    Soap: Williams
    A/S: Pinaud Clubman

A painful shave, literally. No blood, but dragging, catching, digging in. Just awful.

I think I understand why some people cork their blades now (not that I plan on doing it) because the feather gave me a less aggressive shave three shaves in but it isn't as close as those first two. It's more like using a Gillette Swede/Slant...

Tried out the old (10 years) Burma Shave brush for what will be the last time. It is very soft and did a decent enough job with the lather (but not really enough), but the knot fell out and the brush is too cheap to fix. Besides, it sheds like mad. I've been using a VDH Brush for several months now with fine results.

No missed spots today so i'm getting used to the razor :) Great joy to use.
I'm parted. I'm going out on some camping or what i should call it this weekend with some friends. It's a cottage out in the woods with no electricity and so on. Can't decide if i will bring my shaving stuff. It would probably be a great feeling, standing out in the wood with a Tech and some nice smelling lather. But it's quite a walk to get there and I already got a heavy luggage.

  13. Yes. Do it man. Use water that's been heated by a fire, make your lather in a tin cup, use a tiny mirror and shave outside in the sunshine.

That sounds really great to me.

Oh wow, I just realized how much I miss fishing. I am so glad the ice is mostly melted.

It does. When you say it like that!
First i was thinking to just bring a razor a blade and a tube of cream but i think the brush will come with me as well.
Friends, a couple of beers and a huge amount of relaxing! A great weekend awaits :D

  19. Nice!

Outdoors in the wilderness always kind of seemed like the quintessential shave to me. And I'm glad you brought it up - it made me decide that I'm shaving on the patio this weekend now that the weather here is nice. :D
