After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep: Shavemac 22mm silvertip fatboy/feather MWF Lucky Tiger AS Storer 'Monk' EdP Popped a fresh feather in the razor, after using the previous blade for five excellent shaves. Man.........this was definitely sharper than the last shave, and I noticed the blade cutting with even less effort than usual. Heh, I also realized there was exactly zero room for screw ups. I found that out after barely laying the razor down on my adams apple for a downward stroke. Yep, instant tiny zing and very small weeper that took ten minutes to stop bleeding (no styptic needed). Heh, with other blades there's usually a small amout of time for corrections, but this first time use of a new feather removed that buffer. Yeah, I probably wouldn't have gotten this spot of blood if this was the 4th or 5th time on the blade. Hehehehe, not to bring up the point of how deep this shaving 'hobby' rabbit hole can go, Martin Oh.........the shave was great! Even closer than usual, and that MWF really added to my enjoyment.

Blade: New Gem Blade WH Nivea Cooling Balm Club Mend Came down with a cold and felt like crap yesterday and didn't shave, felt no better this morning but was really looking forward to the shave. Result: Crap shave. For some reason it took 3 tries to get a lather I liked. Face feels irritated and wasn't a smooth or good shave at all, one of my worst ever. Only tried 2 passes. The Nivea is new and I didn't like it. Will get PIF to oldest son to see if he likes it. Had to follow up with Club Mend.
