    Sunday morning... BEWARE!

    Razor: '68 Slim @6
    Blade: Astra day 3
    Cream: KMF unscented
    A/S: AV

Another outstanding shave. Going down then up on the neck normally for the first two passes, and saving the bullfrog trick for the third really does the trick.

    Sunday:

    Omega Silvertip
    Parker 22R V1//new Derby
Godrej Menthol Mist S/C :drool :drool :drool
    Visal A/S
    Lubriderm unscented moisturizer
    Acqua di Selva cologne

I am falling in love with this Godrej Menthol Mist cream--the menthol cooling is as strong as Italian Palmolive Menthol cream, and it has a wonderful lather and skincare. The scent goes well with Vifrex or Visal a/s gel, and with Acqua di Selva cologne. ;) :D

    Good Sunday morning all...

    A.Feist & Co. Lunawerk 5/8
    '58 Gillette Tech w/Dorco 301
    Omega Boar
    Tabac ss
    Thayers WH
    Murray & Lanham Florida water
    Wesley & Scott Orange asb

Second day with Lunawerk, after 30 laps on the strop I worked on the cheeks again with a slight foray below the chin...the blade sticks occasionally but I may be taking so mush time that the soap may have lost some hydration...moving to the Tech for the second and third passes left a BBS for the day. The journey continues...

  8. After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

    Shavemac 22 silvertip
    Brevete/ Dorco 301
IK SS (brought out the big guns)
    Lucky Tiger AS
Profumo (Abdes Salaam Attar) 'Chilum' EdP

Tried a different blade today, and the Dorco wasn't bad. Yeah, it's not as sharp as a feather, but it's more comfortable. I've noticed the same thing with other 'mild' blades such as the IPs I've used in this Brevete. I've found that yes, a milder blade in an aggressive razor can feel better while shaving, even though I can actually feel a little pulling as I go. Weird eh? No, it doesn't totally tame the thing's aggressive nature, but it does 'gentle' it a bit.

This razor gave me an extremely close shave.....about equal to an open comb. Heh, takes me longer to use......that's for sure. No looong lazy strokes as when using my fatboy, and zero room for error, even with these blades. Nope, I have to go slowly, taking very short strokes, and always paying close attention. More challenging, but great results when it works out. Today was one of those.........very fun!

Oh, I received a small fragrance assortment yesterday from the lovely ladies at TPC, including two blind buys. Yeah, the one I tried today was from the same gentleman that I'd sampled another scent from in the past. This one is made up of only three notes.........sandalwood, tobacco, and ginger, and I'd wanted to sample it for months. Heh, the jury's still out on this one, although it's not what I figured it to be like. The perfumer did mention it might not be the best for me, based on the previous fragrance I'd tried.

Well, I'm certainly glad I finally tried the stuff (another small monkey off my back). Heh, the other blind sample (different company) didn't turn out nearly so well......can't even wear the stuff. It screams PINE, which ain't for me. Glad I didn't buy more than a few drops.

    Ok, I'm done,
    Martin

    Sunday 3/15

    Penchetta Penworks Silveritp
    Proraso Cream (green)
    7/8 Wade & Butcher
    NDC Fat Handle Tech
    Gillette 7 O'Clock Black
    Thayer's Alcohol Free Original
    Wesley & Scott Lightly Mentholated

Result: After all the talk with Jeff yesterday, I decided on some face freeziness. Incredibly, this was my first shave with Proraso green. Wow is that stuff cold! Not too big on the scent though, but I really did enjoy the cream. The shave with the straight was awful. I'm doing something seriously wrong, I just can't figure out what. Finished with the Tech for a DFS. I'm not giving up though...

Proraso Green cream is WARM compared to Godrej Menthol Mist, and the lather of this Godrej cream is so much better, and the scent is very, very pleasant. I used it this morning, and I am glad I did. A fantastic a/shave gel is Visal--extremely mentholated, with a nice scent, and very soothing and relaxing to the skin. ;)

Jeff, my friend, you are quite the enabler, aren't you? How does Visal compare to Anherb?

Visal is a clear gel, very cooling, smells nice. Anherb gel is a bit less cooling, also with a very nice scent.
