Yes it is. Guy came clean after a couple of folks figured it out. As for today/Friday: Razor: '68 Slim @6 Blade: Astra day 1 Soap: C&E Sandalwood A/S: Pinaud Clubman Botched the lather. Too much water, and was pressed for time so I didn't correct it. Still got a good shave out of it.
Friday 3/13 Penchetta Penworks Silvertip Valobra Fougere Soap 7/8 W&B NDC Fat Handle Tech Gillette 7 O'Clock Black Thayer's Alcohol Free Original Ogallala Bay Rum, Limes, & Peppercorn splash Result: The W&B seems to cut a little better than the 6/8 Wostenholm did. Especially on my cheek right near my mouth... The Ogallala splash today didn't burn nearly as bad as the Special Reserve did yesterday, in fact, no burn at all.
I got a little "starter kit" thing from eShave, so today's shave reflects those items. Super hot shower Razor: 40's style Rocket Blade: Dorco 301 (day 3) Pre Shave: four drops of EVOO massaged into the beard S/C: eShave White Tea S/C A/S: eShave White Tea A/S Cologne: Curve The eShave stuff lathered up nice and creamy, giving a really nice lather and a smooth shave. With three shaves on the Dorco 301's, I'm just not sold on them. It still feels like I'm getting a little tugging. The real test is when I replace the blade with a Derby Extra and give it a comparison shave. Maybe it's the razor, but I'm having a feeling it's the blade. Regardless, it's a nice close shave that should carry me through work tonight.

Waited until the mail came this morning to shave. The Star arrived and I cleaned it up an gave it a whirl. Very nice razor. Shave great and is another good match for me. Can't wait til its turn in the rotation comes up again.

I had forgotten just how smooth and gentle the Tech razors are. The Tech working with the SharpEdge made a smooth and comfortable BBS shave possible this morning. I may have to revist the Tech a bit more often.

Good Saturday morning... A.Feist & Co. Lunawerk 5/8 '66 Slim Adjustable w/Dorco 301 (6) Trumpers super badger Erasmic sc Thayers Original WH/ Ogallala Bay Rum AS Three Crowns Indian Sandalwood AS milk GHT Eau de Quinine cologne (sample) First attempt with the L.Abrams honed (and cleaned) straight...just worked on below the sideburns and cheek areas, then switched to the adjustable...I was able to do the right side fairly smoothly with the switch to my left hand for the left side going a bit slower but effectively. As I approached the chin I felt the razor pulling slightly so I decided to switch over to finish with the DE. A few more passes and a touch up under the chin and the weekend has begun. Nathan
After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep: Shavemac 22mm silvertip Brevete/feather J Peterman 1903 SC Lucky Tiger AS Heh, waiting on some new EdT's to arrive today I hope Well, this wasn't my finest shave.........sigh. First off, I messed up the lather a little bit (too much water), but probably not enough to affect the performance. Then I tried the Brevete once again, which is for sure a different animal from my fatboy. The thing looks so nice, and gives me an extremely close shave, not unlike an open comb. The problem I have with open combs is the aggressive nature of em, and the Brevete is kinda like those. No, it's not terribly uncomfortable, but I do feel the blade on my face more than I'd like. Anyway, got one small weeper that took a few minutes to shut down, but no other damage.....heh. Man....... I wish this thing was more comfortable to use regularly, but I have to pay waaaay more attention to detail, and the comfort level just isn't there regardless. It's still a fun razor to use on certain occasions, such as whenever I get bored with my usual perfect fatboy shaves......heh. In any case, a somewhat flawed, but still enjoyable shave of the day.
