    3/19/2014 Soap Week

Prep: Hot shower with Shea Moisture Shave facial scrub and wash, home made PSO
Razor: Muhle R41 2010, Ace straight razor
Blade: Gillette 7o'clock black label super platinum (3)
Brush: Vie Long horse hair 23 mm knot
    Soap: Tabac
After: Home made ASB, Tabac after shave lotion
    Cologne: Tabac Eau De Cologne

Soap week would not be complete without Tabac day. It was a nice 2 pass shave with touch ups this morning for a Darn Fine Shave.

    Have a blessed day!

    Razor: Mergress XL (S4)
    Blade: Gillette Bleue Extra (D7)
    Brush Semouge 830
    Bowl: 5” Copper Bowl
    Pre Shave Soap: MRGLO Lime
Pre Shave Oil: Homemade Lime & Spearmint
    Soap: Tiki Soaps Set Sail
    Post: Monster Alum Block
    Aftershave: Grey Flannel ASB
Another fantastic shave with Tiki Soaps this morning. I had originally ordered Set Sail in Tallow but was sent a Vegan by mistake but Amanda is sending out a replacement Tallow Set Sail. Even though I am more of a Tallow type of man, this soap is top notch. Used a pea size dollop and enough lather for a three pass shave though only two was needed. Again the post shave smoothness is the best that I can remember out of all the 30+ shave soaps or creams that I have used. After only one shave with Amanda's Tallow and one with her Vegan shave soap would have to place both in my top five shave soaps.

    Odin's Day:

Prep: Hot shower, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
    Soap: Ginger's Garden Jasmine Tobacco
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (1, 2)
Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's WH, Aveeno Active Naturals ASB
Cologne: Jasmin et Cigarette by ELdO

A wonderfully smoky floral shave today, combining the jasmine sambac with the Jasmine Tobacco soap and the Jasmin et Cigarette cologne. The fresh blade was remarkably sharp - even for a Bic - and it thus seemed to me that discretion was the better part of valor in skipping the ATG pass today; I still got DFS+ results, with no weepers. I admit I feel a little like I'm using the Aveeno to use it up, because as much as I like how it soothes, my skin apparently doesn't absorb balms especially well at all.

The Jasmine scents of that shave must be heavenly Jasman! One of my favorites. :love055:

    Wednesday

    Prep: CeraVe facial cleanser
    Soap: HTGAM Synergy unscented
    Brush: Plisson synthetic
    Razor: iKon ShaveCraft 101
    Blade: Astra SP
    After: Cold rinse, CeraVe lotion

I am taking a tour of my unscented soaps this week, using exactly the same hardware everyday.

    Sunday: Tiki Bar unscented soap
    Monday: Mike's Natural unscented soap
    Tuesday: Mike's Natural unscented soap
    Wednesday: HTGAM Synergy unscented soap

Excellent shave! The HTGAM soap is very easy to lather, not fussy about the amount of water like the Mike's soap is. Good glide and cushion from the HTGAM lather.

    Physical Description:

HTGAM: a hard soap, translucent, amber color. The unscented version of the soap has a very neutral smell, almost scentless.

    Wednesday, March 19
Neutrogena Invigorating Face Wash, 2 hot towels
    Homemade eucalyptus pre-shave oil
    C. O. Bigelow cream
    Simply Beautiful Boar
    Merkur HDC
    Gillette Silver Blue (3rd)
    Cold water rinse
    Thayers Witch Hazel
    Stetson After Shave w/Aloe

This is my usual set-up. The only thing I did differently today was the passes - 2 (W, A, touch up) instead of 3 (W, X, A, touch up). I achieved DFS with less irritation than usual.

Like "silk on silk" as I saw in a GEM ad. The MMOC gets a bad rap for being aggressive but not IMO and it can be very smooth if used right. They work at their best with a Treet carbon steel blade for me. Very comfortable irritation free shave today.

@lindyhopper66 just curious why use two straight razors in one shave?
