    Razor: Minora
    Blade: Shark SC
Brush: Hardright Davy Jones 22mm Synthetic
    Soap: Stirling Lime
After Shave: Florida Frost (it just resides in a Aspen bottle)
    Balm: Simpsons

Use to think OC just were not for me. I'd try them on and off and say "My that likes to bite". Then I pick up this Minora and think I probably won't like it. I tried it out and "WOW, this is a great razor"! Now, this one, is one of my favorites!

    Sink of warm water
    face wash x3
    coffee mug filled w/boiling water
    brass bowl w/hot water
    boar brush soaking
    Godrej lavender puck
    Herbs of Bulgaria lavender cream
shavette w/5 use Derby in the lock
3 passes and a touch up
    cool water rinse
vintage Old Spice a/s and Indio Patchouli cologne mixed with some beard cream

I picked up a large coffee mug at the Dollar Tree earlier in the week to use as a shave mug.I used it that way once, then i noticed the brass bowl I usually use fit the mug perfectly.Ha! I now have a proto scuttle.lol.So I tried it out this a.m. and it kept the lather warm through the length of the shave. The lather was a bit of the cream in the bowl and the hot brush loaded on the godrej puck. This resulted in a stable somewhat light foam with good slickness.I still had enough lather in the bowl when I finished for a another pass.I can tell it is time to replace the Derby as I went another pass this a.m. but had no irritation.I followed with a cool face cloth and the O.S.-Patchouli mix .

    Warm face wash, Gatsby FW
    2 hot towels
Cremo Cooling Shave Cream (as pre-shave)
    C. O. Bigelow + M-bomb
Ever-Ready 200T w/original knot (Badger? Boar? Who knows?)
Heirloom Milord (NDC) w/Gillette Silver Blue (1)
    3 passes, touch up
Cold rinse, Stirling Glacial Wintergreen Witch Hazel, Duke Connor Ice Cold AS Balm, Osage Rub

Nice shave (for the most part). The 200T didn't whip up much of a lather. I like the idea of using an entire vintage brush, but it may get reknotted. During my second or third pass, the SB started feeling grabby. I had several noticeable nicks. (I'm on a blood thinner, so it always surprises me these don't bleed more.) Turns out I had loosened the barn doors, and the blade was moving a little. I backed off my touch ups, and managed to salvage a decent shave.

Not nearly cold enough, though. Once I'm back to work, I'm going to stock up on some MITA, more Osage Rub, etc. When the warm weather arrives, I switch to cold water shaving. I guess this will do for now.

UPDATE: I did NOT "salvage a decent shave." I just checked in the mirror, and my neck is so red it looks sunburned. Tomorrow will be a day off.

    Razor: Personna Floating Head
    Blade: Gillette Twinjector (8)
    Lather: Proraso Green
    Brush: VDH Badger
    AS: Afta
    Newspaper Date: Dec. 22,1943

AS usual with this set up , a 2 pass, WTG/ATG and a slurry clean up, the results are fantastic. A warm water rinse followed by a cold water `soaking`, set me up for a nice Afta AS. Feel great, even if my meds started to fade near the end. God Bless each one with a great shave today.

There's a few of us around judging from the occasional patchouli use. It's an ingredient in many products. I like it straight up, too.

Interesting idea! I'll give this a try next time I use OS.

I have a somewhat green thumb and considered trying to keep a plant alive. They can be purchased through mail order.

3/25/2018 - I forgot about the 3/25 1914 Ever-Ready Patent Date - so I am a day late and a dollar short - but oh well - I love my 1914 - my favorite gem style razor - in fact I like it better than the 1912 and damaskeene.

    Happy Monday, Jamie!

Some nice hot water shaving goodness today.
    Some Suavecito pre-shave oil
Made a nice lather with my homemade brush and some Captain Joe
Used my vending machine simplex (with a gillet handle still deciding on a larger replacement handle that will do the razor justice)
    Dorco blade
    Some A/V musk
Hope you all have a great day![IMG]
