Pre: Hot towel and some DB preshave oil
    Mug: Military issued coffee mug
Soap: some NOS Williams (very nice)
    Brush: Ever-ready 150
Razor: Gillette black handle flare tip
    Blade: Astra SP
    Post: AV Musk

Notes: I will admit I went into it a little worried that the soap would be as much of a disappointment as the brush I got with it. Now don't get me wrong I have nothing against Williams soap and I've gotten some good shaves out of even modern Williams soap but I've had issues with a less than lasting lather and I was worried that the vintage would be basically the same as the modern. But lucky for me it was not! it whipped into a nice dense lather very quickly with a lot of lather and did not break down at all on my face. My Gillette with that astra blade inside took well to it and gave me the smooth faced shave I try to mantain.[IMG]

    Today's shave
Hot water wash with a washcloth
    Rubberset 49-4/ silvertip knot
    Sara's Creations eucalyptus, lavender,and mint
Star DE /Gillette old type top cap
    Rockwell Swedish ss (5)
    Fine Lavender por homme
    Micheal Jordan cologne
    Today's shave was nice. The lather was dialed inn to a tee. The marvy mug did nicely as storage and mixing right on the puck. Three passes with the star de, I installed a gillette to cap (as per conversation from the other thread). The reason being;
    1) just for kicks
    2) the star cap being made of zinc, may not be as durable
    3) to see if it changes the shave.
While it felt very similar. I thought it added a bit of blade feel, as well as a bit of weight to the razor head. I was pretty happy with the trade out.
I finished with fine aftershave add a spritz of jordan cologne.
Hope y'all did as well, or better. 20180331_174235_resized(1).jpg

The arcade is called Ready Player 1.

No i didn't end up going to the game, since my friend had the tickets and I wasn't able to make it but did watch on the tube. Crazy game! Would have been cool to see it live.

It's cool to see these old comics. I picked up this vintage book of classic comics the other day, haven't had a chance to read any of them yet, but has a bunch of classics like: Batman, popeye, peanuts, lil Abner, Dick Tract, etc.

    SHAVE OF THE DAY
    20180331_104520.jpg

    Prep: Pre shave soap mix
    Razor: Razorock Hawk SE
    Blade: Kamosouri (1st shave)
    Brush: Fine Angel Hair Synthetic
    Soap: K Shaveworx Black Orchid
Post: Mickey Lee Italian Stallion milk

Surprisingly perfect shave this morning. Have had less than stellar shaves with K Shaveworx in the past. This time I made sure the brush was loaded enough, the result was a thick lather with good slickness. Black Orchid has a unique scent that reminds me a bit of CB Midnight Dreary but a bit heavier on the Orchid note. Although not a very strong scent, it is complex and mysterious. First time with the Kamosouri blade was perfect, no trouble against the grain. Went with the alum block today, haven't used it in a long time. No stinging from the block is always a good sign. Finished off with MLSW aftershave milk, great stuff, really impressed with today's results. Hope everyone had a similar shaving experience.

Yeah, I remember all those old comic books. Superman was my favorite. As far as comic `strips` in newspapers, Peanuts was the one I enjoyed the most. Thanks for your interest, I enjoy going over all the old advertisements, and the war information. I lived through those years. Really brings back memories, Bill

Yea I was just thumbing thru it a minute ago. It has the 1st Superman comic strip as well the 1st Batman. It's always fun to stroll down memory lane.
