The AOS is extremely close to the Fine Santal. I can't recommend them strongly enough. Great scent and the AFS lasts all day. Go with the Fine! And if you don't like it I will take it off your hands!

    Menthol Monday SOTD

    Razor: Gillette Rhodium Fatboy
    Blade: Rapira Swedish SuperSteel (D1)
Brush: Quinn Faux Ivory w 28mm TGN Finest
    Bowl: Captain's Choice Gunmetal
    Pre-Shave Scrub: MRGO Lime
    Pre-Shave Balm: TSD Iced SubZero
Shave Soap: Prairie Creations DdC Alpine Snowdrift
    Post: Monster Block Alum
    Aftershave: Neumann Absolute Zero

Sunday started at least two weeks, possibly the whole month of soaps that I have from Artisans' no longer selling shave soaps/creams, soap/creams no longer produced by major brands and rounding it out will be soaps that have not been in my rotation in over a year. Idea came to me while rummaging through boxes in storage looking for photographs of Bahama cruise daughter and I took 10 years ago and came across three NOS Calani shave soaps that I bought back in 2013 just before I moved from St. Louis to Boise. Out of sight, out of mind. Was not disappointed with Calani and I am never disappointed with Prairie Creations DdC. Sad to the shop close years ago due to illness but her DdC base, and Walther' Menthol (Williams Menthol clone) is outstanding.

Agree Tim. TdH is a great citrus - vetiver. One of my favorites as well. Great looking bowl.

+1 the scent of Fine Santal is almost exactly like the old AOS Tallow Sandalwood. Performance is often compaired closely to Tabac, but the Fine soaps can hold their own without the comparison IMO.

    SHAVE OF THE DAY
    20190303_102043.jpg

    Prep: pre shave soap mix
    Razor: Gillette Tech
    Blade: Croma Diamat
Brush: Maggard Blue & White Synthetic
    Soap: Country Club- La Habana
Post: Mickey Lee Grand Havana Balm

Managed a super smooth BBS shave this morning. Really like all 3 of the Country Club soap formulas i have tried so far, this one being the Vegan is a darn good soap IMO. Lathered up with no problems and provided all the juice necessary for a decent shave. Scent of La Habana is nearly identical (for my nose) to the Grand Havana by Mickey Lee, so the scents couldnt have matchedore beautifully. Did get a little redness on neck but shave finish was smooth as could be and no nicks no complaints. Hope everyone had a great shave!

Broke out some favorites today...alternate between Manna and Tundra pairing with London Oud, haven't tried SV's aftershaves, but these two are on the list with this scent. Couple mail calls coming looking forward to trying out soon.

    Beautiful SOTD:
That Godrej lime is so easy to get a consistent shave with, you get the same lather consistency every single time as long as you use the same amount of cream and as long as your brush isnt too wet.

    Razor: fatip piccolo
Blade: gillette 7 o clock sharp edge (7)
    Cream: Godrej lime
    Aftershave: Brut by faberge

Below is some photos showing how sparingly you can use this cream to get a 3 pass shave
