All I can say is that this setup is NOT for the faint of heart because it’s so bloody FRIGID. The Glacial Wintergreen soap’s beautiful scent filled my bathroom, the lather was so perfect, the menthol sensation was absolutely off the charts, and the skincare was so soothing like all of Rod’s soaps. The matching balm and with hazel along with Fernando’s Wintergreen aftershave took the freeze to another level. Another magnificent three pass BBS shave that was so much fun!

Aaaand a change to my listing of today's shave-the brush DOES have a name...Razorock 400. Another great shave, but I have to mark it lower than yesterday. Why is that. Well, I had a Knick and a Polka-Dot at North Porcupine(area just under the nose). Real good everywhere else, except the Ingrown Hair area at North Cactus. I'm trying to find a way to cut into those hairs, if I can. Switch razor direction, make sure to get a good HOT lather on there, whatever it takes. That's a March focus for me. But overall, I do love this West Texas soap from Hub City Soaps. I plan on making another order with them either before I finish this, or after it becomes "The Wreck Uh The Edmund FitzgerALD". (Note, Gordon makes the "uh" sound in place of "of"). More greatness from the Clubman Special Reserve A.S. Very Outstanding shave this morning.

Terrific shave this morning. I'm getting used to the Meiji and like it more each time I use it and the Shark blade has been a very pleasant surprise. And I'm an unabashed Cremo fan, the Bourbon Vanilla being my favorite scent. A really nice shave and a bit of a surprise. I'll remember this combination ...

 

DE SOTD, Friday, March 10 2023, Day 4 of 4 consecutive daily shaves, testing Yaqi Mellon 316 SS DOC head with a Yaqi Tear drop 316 polished stainless steel.

Razor : Yaqi 2nd generation or V2 Mellon head DOC 316 polished stainless steel with a Yaqi "Tear drop" cannon looking handle, Mfg 2023>, excellent mid range, machining and Finish is excellent QC for my shaving needs, enclosed tabs , I have used this razor head for 4 consecutive daily shaves and it could well be a daily driver for some folks & for myself. Still affordable for a 316L SS razor head for most folks, look for Yaqi sales and its even better for affordability like I usually do. Its blast from the past for a modern version Grand Shave King razor(1930's) sort of design that just works excellent and not as mild as the GSK design from my limited research( it was more a buffing razor from videos I have watched)! The Yaqi Mellon 316 SS V2 is not designed as buffing razor and gets the shaving done very efficiently + slightly more efficiently than Yaqi V1 Mellon head IMO.
Blade : Gillette 7oClock SP(2) sharp & smoooth with reasonable longevity. Top tier blade for myself.
Soap : Taylor of old Bond Street(AKA= TOBS) Sandalwood cream, very nice herbal Sandal wood 6-7/10 scent strength + excellent lather qualities. On 2nd tub since using this great TOBS cream years ago. Another great UK sandalwood is Cyril R Salter slightly milder herbal scented Sandalwood than the TOBS Sandalwood IMO.
Brush : Yaqi "Bali" 24mm silver(3 band) tip Badger, excellent lather generator, heavenly pillow like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Witch hazel beard cleanse +Ogallala Bayrum & sandal wood + a dollop of Geo F Trumper Sandalwood skin food.
Results : CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Excellent shave this morning with my Yaqi V2 Mellon 316 SS head + a Yaqi "Tear drop" cannon looking handle with a Gillette 7oClock SP .

I got the COVID-19 last Tuesday. I skipped shaving yesterday, but today I finally felt like shaving again.

The Art*Razor Pleasure of Art Shaving Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #220 2-band Badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette U.S. Army Old Type and a Gillette Silver Blue SS Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Dickinson's Witch Hazel and Aqua Velva Blue Ice After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
