Thanks, your handle is wonderful! You may not remember this, but you originally mounted a boar knot in this handle, but I'm afraid that I'm not a boar fan. I liked how the reddish brown of the Synbad knot matched the color of the rose wood handle, so I swapped out the boar knot for the soft synthetic.

The Proraso Green Shave Soap lathered well with Semogue SOC Boar Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Rolls Traveler and a 1953 Rolls Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

Well, you made a great choice there. Looks great. It is funny you mention boars. I have pulled out my Semogue Owners Club boar for this week. It is well broken in and works great.

This morning I wanted to be a Glacial boy so being that I was in the mood for a cherry scented soap I selected the Glacial Black Cherry. My God, does this soap ever smell awesome, the tallow formula gives it magnificent lather that’s so slick, the menthol sensation is killer cold like all the Glacials, and the skincare is numero uno. The Prep and the Rubby Dubby Doo as I call the Osage Rub provided plenty of extra soothing, moisturizing, and tons of additional menthol goodness. Last but not least the gorgeous Bleu de Chanel fragrance and I’m ready for another relaxing day of retirement. Three passes gave me a stunning BBS shave that was so much fun!

Last week I mentioned that I am now seem to be preferring milder razors. The 94r is borderline mild for me. Gave a great shave but has a lot of blade feel. Maybe it's the SS? The Blue's SS is plenty slick but seems to lack a bit of cushion for me. Anyway, I was careful and got a dandy shave so all is well. Now go enjoy your day folks.

ASRazor shave, Monday, March 11th 2024

Razor : Ever-Ready streamline 2nd generation- Mfg 1949-53, mid to upper mid range. This razor was designed when the Gem blade spline was thicker, but fast forward to todays modern blade it has a thinner aluminum spline so to mimic the the older spline I add a shim underneath the Modern blade spline(R.I.G.S) to smooth out the shave slightly. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE (10) very sharp, smooths out nicely, excellent longevity, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Ach Brito Lavanda cream, nice milder scented lavender with a touch of mint, + excellent lather qualities. This is a wonderful shave cream and it is very easy to reach a very nice lather quickly IMO.
Brush : Yaqi "Mountain lake" 24mm 2band badger. Excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips. nice splay scrubber + great lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Ach Brito Lavender with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Ever-Ready streamline razor with a coated Gem blade.
