The Williams Mug Shaving Soap lathered well with Jayaruh #1 Silvertip Badger. Two passes and touch ups with the TNNSER V1. SE Razor and a Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Dickinson's Lemongrass Witch Hazel. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

SE SOTD, Wednesday, March 20th 2024

Razor : Yaqi Katana SE (1/2 DE blade) with a Yaqi retracting or extending handle. Mfg 2019>, tame mid to mid range. This is a interesting razor to use and results are good mostly. Secret for me to use this razor head is to snap blade and lightly tighten blade and then bump blade into place with a blade tuck box and then secure with a normal tightening pressure to secure blade. With a very short length of handle this razor is very nimble to use and a joy to use. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Gillette Astra(1) sharp and smooth with excellent longevity.
Soap : Cyril R Salter Wild rose, nice rose fragranced cream with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Barber pole" 24mm 2band badger. Excellent lather generator, Luxury pillow like soft tips, Nice splay scrubber + great lather painter. Nice large handle for larger hands with a Excellent knot.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Italian barber(AKA Razorock) splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Katana SE with a Gillette Astra blade.

Here my Shave of the Day (20.03.2024)


Razor: Gillette Fat Handle Tech // Blade: Gillette Platinum // Soap: Barbasol // Aftershave: Thayers Witch Hazel

First time EVER using Barbasol which was a Birthday Gift.

The scent is fantastic, the foam very thick and cushiony. Slickness while shaving is very good but after the passes there is almost no residual slickness.

Barbasol is nice to have and like i said, i LOVE the scent, but i think i will use it for my belly or chest shaves and not for face shaves. The shave itself was not bad, but to apply the lather with your hands instead of using a brush (which is part of the ritual) feels strange.

All in all a 7 out of 10

Bowl Lather.
Bowl: Tesco's Ceramic 'Cosmo' Side Bowl.
Lather: The Body Shop Maca Root & Aloe softening shaving cream.
Blade: Treet Platinum. (D2)
Razor: Parker 24C.

Post:
Cold Water Face Rinse./Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, /Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse./Homemade (~Spring/Summer mix~) Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Essential Oils.5 Menthol Crystals Mixed Together With Care+Witch Hazel./Brut ASL./ Wilko Men's Moisturiser.

A wonderful shave to finish my shaving week.

I have mentioned on many occasions that The Body Shop Maca Root & Aloe shaving cream never fails to provided me with a smooth protective slick lather in no time leaving a superb post shave feel. This cream gives the best protective slickness, and post shave feel that I have had from any shaving cream that I have tried to date...It's such a shame that The Body Shop has went into administration with the loss of another great shaving product, and more importantly the loss of 480+ jobs in the UK...Enough said.

A comfortable 2 pass + pick ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Wilko Men's Moisturiser.

My face is feeling cool smooth & smelling divine.
