These Scheermonnik soaps are really nice - this Delftse Donderslag has a beautiful spicy, exotic scent, it’s not tallow based but it lathers great, it’s so slick, and the postshave feeling is so soothing as well as relaxed. The Aloe Vesta moisturizer works great as a balm, and the Proraso Red aftershave stung me a little when I first splashed it on but then it felt wonderful - its scent is a good match for the Delftse Donderslag soap. Finally the 1881 fragrance from Nino Cerruti which my lovely sister-in-law bought me as a gift and I’m ready to enjoy a relaxing Sunday. What an awesome three pass BBS shave this was!

The Old Spice Original Shave Cream lathered well with Jayaruh #1 Silvertip Badger. Two passes and touch ups with the J.A. Henckels Rapide Lather Catcher and a Henckels Wedge Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Dickinson's Lemongrass Witch Hazel. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Maggard V3A on MR7 handle.
An Indian Astra SP on its 6th shave.

I typically use a blade 5 times, just wanted to see how long this new version of Astra can last.
I think a seventh shave would be possible but not as sharp or long lasting.

 

Sunday SE Shave, March 24th

Razor : Yaqi Excalibur SE 50mm AC type razor head with a Milano 316SSP handle. Mfg 2021>, tame mid range. Interesting simple blade clamping design. Small head parts makes me work on a wash cloth when assembling. A very affordable 3pc SE razor if a person is interested in SE shaving. Had a close comfortable shave this morning!
Blade : Kai Captain titian mild (2) sharp and smoooth with great longevity.
Soap : Speick stick, nice mild spicy scented triple pressed soap with excellent lather qualities. Very good soap.
Brush : Yaqi " Casino clubs" 26mm timber wolf knot. Excellent lather generator, luxury heavenly cloud like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock King Louis lavender splash + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi SE Excalibur razor with a Kai titian SE blade.

A tremendous Grand Freeze!

My face is so bloody frozen that I think it’ll take all to thaw out - my dear brother Rod’s Glacial Electric Sheep soap did a helluva number on me. I enjoyed everything about it - the beautiful lemony/citronella/eucalyptus scent, it lathered so thick, rich, creamy, super slick as well as protective, the menthol sensation started to pummel my face right away, and the postshave care was so comfortable as well as soothing. Needless to say the Prep provided lots of additional cooling, moisturizing care, and do I ever LOVE the lovely old school barbershop scent of the Floid Vigoroso aftershave as well as its icy cold menthol kick. Another awesome three pass BBS shave that was fit for a king!
