The Musgo Real Shave Soap lathered well with Tom's 3D Printed Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the C.V. Heljestrand Lather Catcher and a Heljestrand Wedge Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Dickinson's Lemongrass Witch Hazel. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Just because this Gada Cool Mint cream cost me less than 2.00 CAD at my friend’s store doesn’t mean that it’s not good - in fact it’s one of the few creams that I want to keep in my rotation. It’s from Lebanon, it has a very nice minty/lemony scent, just a small dab on my chin and both cheeks is enough to give GREAT lather that’s so slick, there’s a good amount of menthol in it, and it leaves the skin feeling so relaxed as well as soothed because it also contains chamomile. The Prep and the Aqua Velva were a perfect finishing combo. Two passes did the job for me - another super duper BBS shave that was such a pleasure!

SE Sunday SOTD, March 3rd 2024

Razor : Yaqi SE Excalibur AC type with a Milano 316SSP handle- Mfg 2021>, tame mid range. Simple blade clamping system + head parts are small so I like to work on a wash cloth to reduce chances of dropping any parts. This little razor has given me consistent close shaves and enjoyable ones. 1st pass on this razor seems a bit tuggy compared to the Yaqi Romulus SE AC 316 polished version using the Schick proline blades. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Schick Proline P30 (5) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : Mitchell's wool fat, mild clean scented lather with great lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi " Robin" 24mm boar bristle hair knot. Excellent lather generator, soft split end bristle hairs, nice splay scrubber + great lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : FINE Fresh Vetiver aftershave with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Excalibur with a Schick proline blade.

First Shave in March (03.03.2024)


Razor: PILS 104NE // Blade: Gillette Platinum // Soap: PannaCrema Vetiver // Brush: PAA Phantom Aerolite // Aftershave: Thayers Witch Hazel

A real good one. The blade was done so i had 4 or 5 tiny bloodspots. Nothing cold water and Witch Hazel couldn ´t handle.

The Soap lathered up fine and the big Boy held tons of lather. I shimmed the PILS so i thought it would shave a bit more toroughly. It did. A bit more bladefeel without loosing it´s smoothness. Really good.

2,5 passes plus Touch Ups and i was done.

A healthy dose of Thayers Witch Hazel endet up a really good shave.

9 out of 10
