    Friday morning:

    King C. Gillette Facial Wash
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Super Speed/Wilkinson Sword day 9
    Stirling Sharp Dressed Man SS
    Aloe Vesta Moisturizer
    Bleu de Chanel AS Splash
    Bleu de Chanel Deodorant Stick
    Bleu de Chanel EdP

Man oh man not only do I look gorgeous, (according to my wife!) I smell gorgeous. The Sharp Dressed Man soap provided tons of thick, rich, super slick beautifully scented lather as well as wonderful postshave care - my dear brother Rod is a true soap and aftershave genius. The Aloe Vesta moisturizer gave me great soothing, and finally the magnificent Bleu de Chanel fragrance in its aftershave, deodorant and eau de parfum completed the job. Three passes cleaned me up fantastically - what a cracking good BBS shave this was!

Have a nice Easter weekend - be well and safe![IMG]

    Friday's Cold Water Shave

    Cold Water Rinse
Art Razor Pleasure of Art Shaving Soap
    Bethlehem Olive Wood Silvertip
    Gillette Sheraton
    Gillette Silver Blue
    CWR
    Dickenson's Witch Hazel
    Pinaud Citrus Musk EDC

The Art Razor Pleasure of Art Shaving Soap lathered well with the Bethlehem Olive Wood Silvertip Badger. Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette Sheraton Razor and a Gillette Silver Blue Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Dickenson's Witch Hazel and Pinaud Citrus Musk EDC. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I am not getting along well with my Gillette razors so far... either too mild, or too aggressive.

So, have been trying to learn them the best I can.

Pre-War Tech, Astra SP (2), the sad remains of an Arko stick.

This is my 3rd shave with this razor in about a month. The first time I applied too much pressure because I am used to heavier razors, and loaded it up with a fresh Feather not expecting it to be aggressive to any extent. Nope, bad idea.

The second time I used a heavier handle and a well used Astra. A little irritation (still too much pressure ?) but a lot better.

This time, I tried to apply as little pressure as possible. No irritation, a good shave overall, but I do have some faint stubble under the chin even though I thought I got it there. I guess it's still more angle-sensitive than my modern razors.

To be honest, I am getting a lot better results with a lowly $9 Maggard V3A head. In part because it's far less sensitive to the shaving angle, in part because it's much more "loud" so I get a far better feedback from it. Full BBS shaves with no cuts or irritation. But, this Gillette is a piece of history, and I am a sucker for old things. So, will keep trying until I get repeatable results.
