Lol. Not at this time. I'm contracted out installing radios in government vehicles and such. Business is hit and miss but is enough to support my trips to antique stores.

I always say "don't let fear and common sense hold you back". The SRROC was started by me and another member just chatting about the need for an appreaciation thread, he took the ball and ran with it.....

What a beautiful place to be contracted out to. Who knows maybe you'll have time to hit an antique shop and find some hidden treasures. Enjoy! :D

60-yo newbie’s intro to traditional shaving. (Week 45 AC*)

I fell off the wagon in February from posting on SOTD. Finally back to continue to chronicle my first full year of shaving with traditional shaving gear other than carts, electric, etc. About the first 6 months were focused on DEs, with the rest on SEs - including all of 2016 marching through injectors - Schick types C1 and D.

The month of March has focused on two Schick E type razors: a Canadian E and a US E2, while also trying out different blades with each.

    Hot Shower
    Razor: Schick E2
Blade: NOS Schick Platinum (Holland) (1)
Soap: Flannel in the Rain (PAA)
    Brush: Ever-Ready 1CS Badger Black/Lucite
    TSD Witch Hazel
    Myrsol Blue

    Two-day growth. Two-pass shave - XTG, ATG
First time trying this blade, reputed to be one of the sharpest injector blades...and it is noticeably sharper. It's sharpness really helps with technique focus beginning with the proper angle. Too little, not much reduction. Too much it seems to tug. Just right - slices nicely and smooth. I will get the hang of it but will go gingerly through the minefield that is my broad chin.

    Great first shave!

    Cheers!

Hey Bill I have a razor just like that, it is marked "Club" . Looks sort of like a tech but not as mild. Great shave, I'll see if I can dig it out and put up a picture ..

    Today's shave
Hot shower and wash with neutrogena mens invigorating face wash and a washcloth
W.german boar brush (didnt make the pic)
    Unlnown (yellow) shave sample
    MMOC
    Stainless steel blade
    Crusella&co kolonia
Today i was treated to a new to me MMOC. As well as tsome ss blades to go with it. And further I was given two soap samples, sans the identity of the soaps. I used the yellow sample first. It provided me with wonderfully slick, great smelling lather. It smelled to me like ķeylime pie. My face felt great after. I finished the shave with kolonia.
Hope y'all did as well, or better.

I would surely appreciate that. Mine has no markings whatsoever. It was advertised as "made in Germany". Thank you in advance.

Perfect shave this morning. The Omega boar made a nice slick face lather with the Palmyra. The Blackbird and Persona red wrapper blade were just amazing. 3 passes and BBS! Avon Island Lime gave me a nice finish. My face is still near BBS almost 8 hours after the shave. I like that!
