I'm looking forward to the next pic that pairs that brush with the green-scaled razor that gets so much praise around here.

    Sunday Morning Local Elections Shave
    Razor:
    Edwin Jagger DE8911
    Blade: Shark (1)
    Brush: Isana Men Badger
    Soap: Arko
    AS: Brut Original

My first time shaving with Shark blade was pretty good. It can be my secondary bullet for my EJ. It gives a comfy and close shave like Rapira. But can't beat Rapira for me. Now, I have to go out and vote for my city's future. Hope it will be a fair election in whole country.

Sorry it took me so long to reply. I've been out of pocket for a couple of days. I use Cetaphil as both a pre-shave and as an post-shave balm. I have very dry skin and if I don't use some sort of pre-shave, my face seems to suck the water out of my lather. This causes the lather to lose some of its slickness. By moisturizing my face with Cetaphil before my shave, I don't have this problem.

I tried pre-shave oils before I started using Cetaphil and they didn't work as well for me. Besides, I didn't like the way they left my hands feeling oily. As I understand it, the purpose of pre-shave oil is to keep the water in your lather from being absorbed into your face. Cetaphil does this very well for me.

I also use Cetaphil post-shave as balm. I only have to use a drop or so, but it soothes and calms my face after the shave. I never have any visible irritation or razor burn, but I usually can feel a slight burning after I shave. Cetaphil takes that away.

I use the regular Cetaphil lotion. I have also tried the Cetaphil face lotion, but I couldn't tell any difference in the results. Since the regular lotion is cheaper, that's what I use.

Good luck! I hope it works for you. I have seen where other have used Cornhuskers lotion as a preshave. I gave that a try before I tried Cetaphil. Cornhuskers worked pretty well, but not as well as Cetaphil. My guess is that pretty much any quality lotion would work.

No shave today; the nick on my neck needs a little time.

    Hot shower
Two hot towels and a facial massage
    Large Horsehair Barbershop
    Super Speed/Rapira day 7
    Erasmic Supreme Shaving Stick :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055:
    Thayers Witch Hazel :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055:
    Pinaud Bay Rum AS :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055:

Wowzer, what a great shave I had with my wonderful Super Speed with the finest of all blades. (to me!) This glycerine-based Erasmic Supreme stick has the same awesome old school barbershop scent which I love so much and this big horsehair brush drove such a rich, creamy lather into my face. The witch hazel is really soothing and comforting, and I absolutely LOVE the Pinaud Bay Rum - it's such a delightful aftershave. Now, I'll stay home and chill out with the wife and daughter for the rest of the day. More snow's falling. (dammit!) ;) :D

    Sunday

    Prep: Hot Shower-Stirling Bath Soap
    Soap: La Toja Cream
    Razor: Gillette Slim
    Blade: Rapira Platinum Lux (1)
    Brush: Whipped Dog Silvertip 22mmx48mm
    Aftershave: Proraso Green

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angle for my beard a bit)

La Toja Cream today along with a new Rapira Platinum Lux in the Slim. Great smooth, close, nick free shave. I finished up with Proraso Green. Good match up this morning! The La Toja is underappreciated: very thick, excellent cushion and glide.

    Dove Men's Face Wash
    Cella Shave Cream
    Frank Shaving Finest Badger
    Gillette NEW
    Voskhod Teflon Coated (6)
    CWR
    Thayers Cucumber WH
    FD Old Spice AS

The Frank Shaving finest badger brush face lathered the Cella shave cream very nicely. Two passes and touch ups with my Gillette NEW and the Voskhod Teflon Coated blade left me with a near BBS shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Cucumber WH and Family Dollar Old Spice after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
