Prep: Warm wash with Stirling Scots Pine Sheep, applied homemade PSO, then applied airy, bad Van Der Williams lather. Let that soak in.
    Lather: Omega Crema Barbara
    Brush: Vie-Long 13061
    Razor: Merkur 34HD
    Blade: Dorco (3)
Post: Cold water rinse and Old Spice aftershave

My Van Der Williams conglomeration let me down once more. I made the lather 3 or 4 times and just kept getting a light, airy, wet, dry mess, so I used it as pre-shave then face lathered Omega Crema and did just fine. Dorco blade was a little tuggy on its 3rd shave, so it went to the coffin after today's shave. No nicks, weepers or gashes. 3 passes and out the door to run a concession stand at a rodeo later this morning.

I'm pretty sure my wife would like a Wacker for an anniversary gift or maybe for Mother's Day. At any rate, it's a fine shaving razor. I didn't consider it shave ready when I received it so I taped the spine and dropped down to a 1,000 grit stone set the bevel and then went to a coticule with a light slurry diluted out to just water. To finish it out I followed the same procedure with a Celebrated Water Hone. Then I hit the strops with it, fabric and leather and have a fine shaving edge. Very nice shave again this morning. Have a good one.

    Soap: Tiki Bar unscented
Brush: Oscar11 with HIS synthetic knot
    Prep: Clear Essentials glycerin soap
    Razor: iKon ShaveCraft
    Blade: Astra SP
    After: Cold rinse, CeraVe lotion

Excellent shave! I rested my face yesterday so this was a two day stubble. The Tiki Bar soap lathers up well, really excellent soap. The big Oscar11 brush is a pleasure to use for face lathering, right amount of density and backbone, but gentle, so scritchy. The ShaveCraft and fresh Astra blade took down the stubble without any irritation.

    Have a great day!

    SUNDAY
    Early Sunday Morn

Yesterday I had finished sanding and polishing my recently-acquired Griffon straight razor, and honed it to a decent edge.
As I went to strop it, I dropped the open razor onto the ceramic tile floor with a ‘clank! I picked it up noticed a good sized impression in the blade edge. (Grrr!):angry019:
Back to the Norton! It took some effort to remove the nick from the edge, but the good news is the edge came out even better the second time.
The L'Occitane Cade soap is really terrific shave soap, by the way. Not having used it in some time, I was rewarded with ultra-thick, ultra-slick lather that was very reminiscent of the quality lather that I've only gotten regularly from certain pucks such as MdC. Overall, a DFS+!
    Have a blessed day, everyone!

    Sunday:
hot shower w/TOBS Sandalwood bar soap
    Homemade PSO
    Robeson straight 2 passes
    Schick Hydro Magic 2 passes
    Schick (1)
    VDH boar
    Proraso Red
    Thayers unscented w/aloe
    D R Harris Sandalwood AS

I didn't have time to post yesterday and Saturday wasn't supposed to be a shave day but a day long event gave enough excuse to do a quick couple of clean-up passes early morning and try my Schick J2 with a good blade and I got an excellent result.

Today, back on the regular schedule. SE on my neck and Straight on the rest of my face. Again, trying yet another recently acquired Schick after fixing my problem with blades. Not as good a shave as the J1, J2, or the StickSchick but certainly better than with a damaged blade so maybe I just need a little practice with this one.

Lots of Sandalwood today. TOBS in the shower, Proraso for the shave, and D R Harris for the finish. Three great products.
