    Wednesday:
hot shower w/Yardley Jasmine Pearl bar soap
    Taconic unscented PSO
    Gillette FatBoy (9) 3 passes
    Astra SP (1)
    Semogue Owners Club badger
Classic Brand Jasmine soap and then some Proraso cream (blue)
    Thayers unscented w/aloe
    My Nik Is Sealed
    Alpa Windsor AS

I had such a great shave on Monday that I went to bed last night dreaming of a fabulous shave this morning so it was a huge and frustrating disappointment to have it all go to heck. I have a couple of pucks of Classic Brand soap that I bought when I first started so I thought the reason I never got a good lather out of them was I hadn't yet learned the art of lather making. This morning I decided to pull one out and came to the conclusion that this soap needed to go in the trash. No matter what I did the lather was nothing but thin. It's more like the lather you get from a bar of hand soap rather than a good puck of shave soap and I can never finish a pass with this stuff without it doing a disappearing act and drying my face. I set my razor down and worked and worked with both adding product and water but kept getting the same worthless result. Mind you I'm using a $95.00 brush and I get fabulous lather with soaps like Gold Dachs and Savon du Midi no matter what brush I use. Eventually I lost my focus and proceeded to nick myself twice. Not weepers, but nicks. The kind that make you jump, wince, and say bad words. I've included a photo of my puck of Classic Brand Jasmine meeting it's fate.

    Prep: Warm shower
    Razor: EJ DE89L
    Blade: Voskhod (4)
    Soap: Stirling Barbershop
    Brush: Semogue 830
    Post: Witch Hazel, Cetaphil Lotion
    Aftershave: Brut

I finished with a very nice shave, but it was a little uncomfortable. I forgot to use my usual Cetaphil lotion before shaving so I'm sure that was part of my problem. Also, I usually use a blade for just 3 shaves, but pushed it to 4 today. Not my best decision. Still, I had very good results.

    Have a great day!

Back to MdC today to compare it to the LASS. Excellent shave all around. Still reserving judgment for a few more shaves. I finished up with Clubman.

    WEDNESDAY

I had a chance to try two new items with this morning's shave: A new Omega synthetic brush and a tin of Pre de Provence shave soap.

The PdP soap was a PIF (thanks, Fram!), and my hopes weren't too high as reviews were either tepid in enthusiasm, or downright negative ("horrible soap!").
Using the new syn Omega (very soft faux badger), I began loading the brush from the tin, but rather than mix the lather up in the bowl, I opted to continue to whip direct from the soap tin.
In little time, the tin was soon overflowing with a rather thick lather that had a slippery feel between the fingers. I applied the lather to my face and was surprised how well the lather coated. PdP has a subtle herbal (sage is dominant) scent. I did a 3-pass straight razor shave and overall, the PdP provided a substantial slick cushion for three lathers. Perhaps it's the soft California water that brought out the positive characteristics of this soap, or my 'magical touch' (ha!), but for whatever reason, I had very good results on my initial run with this soap.

The omega brush, although quite soft to the touch, has good backbone. The tips, however, are somewhat 'prickly'—a noticeable difference from natural badger.
Overall, a DFS this morning. :happy088: Have a blessed Wednesday, all!

    Prep: Clear Essentials glycerin soap
    Soap: Queen Charlotte unscented
    Brush: Plisson synthetic
    Razor: iKon ShaveCraft 101
    Blade: Astra SP
    After: Cold rinse, CeraVe lotion

I am taking a tour of my unscented soaps, using exactly the same hardware everyday.

Day 1: Tiki Bar unscented soap
    Day 2, 3: Mike's Natural unscented soap
Day 4: HTGAM Synergy unscented soap
Day 5: Petal Pusher Fancies "Scentsless soap
Day 6: Barrister & Mann unscented soap
Day 7: Mystic Water unscented soap
Day 8: The Shave Den unscented wheat cream
Day 9: The Shave Den unscented soap
Day 10: Prairie Creations tallow and lanolin unscented soap
Day 11: Queen Charlotte unscented soap

This is a HUFA soap for me, not sure why. The Queen Charlotte soap is a very good tallow soap. Loaded and lathered easily, great performance.

    Physical Description:

Queen Charlotte soap: a hard tan-colored tallow soap. This soap has a mild soapy smell, no harsh notes.

This is the last unscented soap in my tour.

    Boaz Something different

Hi folks, I got up at 6oclock this morning to get ready for work and had a problem with boiler so went with a full cold water shave, other than the shock at that time of the morning it was actually pretty good. I used TOBS Shavng Shop cream which lathered up like usual and went with two passes only and once finished I felt really refreshed and my face was in good condition with no issues at all.

I don't think I will be doing it every day, but it is something I will definitely have another go at.

    Cheers.

Good shave. Best thing about this Push Button is it's comfort and speed as a result of it's mildness. It would make a great daily shaver. What I've been noticing is since I switched to SE's I only need to do 2 passes. Even with this very mild razor.
