I can't believe how mega-BBS and comfortable my shave was this morning - my Super Speed/7 AM duo never lets me down. The Arko Ice Mint cream always delivers its great scent and awesome lather, with a DAMN strong menthol sensation. Leave it to the Visal gel and the Rubby Dubby Doo to complete the freezing! ;) :D

You just can't beat the Arko creams! These lower priced creams are just excellent. BestShaveNet has a good selection of Arko creams at just $2.49 per tube! :happy036: I think once I whittle down my current collection of creams and soaps, I would like to try one of each type of Arko cream. The Muhle R101 as usual gave me a nice, comfortable BBS shave. I think the Brut ASL has a masculine fragrance and find the scent can easily last for 10 hours or more.

Hey! I just noticed that the great Arko soap is now available in a bowl. How cool is that!! Has anyone tried it yet? Is it the same as the legendary shave stick?

    Cheers, Lyndon

Nice shave this morning. Good lather with the Cream and nice scent. I find the post shave skin care to be a little lacking but nothing a couple of drops of JoAnna's balm can't take care of.[IMG]

    SOTD Tuesday 3/26:

Hot bath (to relax my twisted muscles on my back from falling down icy steps yesterday)
    Neutrogena Naturals Purifying facial wash
    Hot towel
    Cremo as pre shave cream
    TOBS Sandalwood SC
    AOS Pure badger
    1946/7 Aristocrat with Pol-silver SI
3 passes with attempt at j-hooking neck
    Hot water splash
    Thayer's Rose WH
    Cold water splash
    TSD Iced Cool Water Milk
    PdP ASB

DFS... some irritation on the neck this morning. New blade I haven't used before in a razor that's slightly aggressive and I haven't used that much... Tried j-hooking a few places on my neck that give me problems usually, and that wasn't such a great idea. They aren't kidding when they say it's an advanced technique. Think I'm gonna try the super iridium in my Merkur tomorrow and if I still cant get a comfortable shave then its back to my super-max plats.

    Happy Tuesday :p

    Tuesday morning.

    Axe Chilled face wash
    Prosaso Pre-Shave Cream
    Van Der Hagen SS
    Van Der Hagen Boar Brush
    Bluebird blade
    Gillette Gold Tech razor
    Witch Hazel
    Captain's Choice Bay Rum
    Nivea post-shave balm

    A BBS!

Decided to try the Bluebird this morning. Was hoping it would be a cheaper option over the Silver Blue, I'm not sure yet but it is certainly sharp, and I don't want to judge until the second day with it. First shave with a new blade usually a little rough. Got three weepers on my neck, without even knowing until splashing cold water on my face! It's sharp! I'm betting tomorrow the shave will feel smoother.

Three pass with touch-ups. Feel my technique was not up to par, the touch-up went on too long again. But I am surprised I have no irritation hours later.
Just a raw feeling on the neck. Love the witch hazel and Nivea creme.

Was in hurry, so I just grabbed the first stuff I touched...
    Merkur 23C/??? blade
    Vie-Long horsehair brush
    Viking SC
    Cold water splash
    Fitjar Miklagard ASC
Despite the running out of time and almost no prep, the shave was ok, with no irritation. Seems that straight shaving skills transits to DE too, giving that "light pass, no pressure"... Viking cream is one single gem! It's softening and protective properties are very good, and the smell is nice too. Put some Old Spice AS as EdT before going out...

Wednesday's shave - sadly not the much anticipated straight shave as I had to attend to an emergency at work shortly after 05:00 a.m., which has by now been taken care of. Now, just after 10:00 a.m., I will be making use of my secondary den in about 15 mins with a quite straightforward set-up:

    Logona Mann shave cream
my small Mühle Classic with a 19mm Silver Tip Fibre knot
    Merkur 11C open comb
    Rotbart Extra Dünn blade
    Bloc Osma alum
    Speick Men after shave
