I certainly won't complain about today's shave because it turned out to be as smooth as silk, as well as very comfortable. Even the older version of Proraso Green cream is nice - the lather is a pleasure to work with and the menthol is strong enough. The Diana balsam and the Penguin are two of a menthol freak's best friends. Sorry for not showing pictures today. ;) :D

An old school single edge shave this morning. Pretty cheap and simple shave really but, a good one. These products were the norm back in my Dad's day. He passed on his GEM Micro Matic Clog Pruf to me when I started shaving. I have to admit though; back in those days the shave cream came out of a can of Barbersol my Dad used.

    Wednesday morning.

    Axe Chilled face wash
    Prosaso Pre-Shave Cream
    Van Der Hagen SS
    Van Der Hagen Boar Brush
    Bluebird blade (2)
    Gillette Ball-End Tech razor
    Witch Hazel
    Family Dollar Spice
    Nivea post-shave balm

    A fine comfortable DFS!

The second day with the Bluebird blade was a great one. Very smooth and comfortable shave! A three pass with minimal touch-up and my face sings.

I learned my lesson from the past few days and strove to take it easy on my neck, I decided to leave the neck as a DFS and I'm glad I did. I feel like a million bucks.

    SOTD Wednesday 3/27:

    Hot shower
    Neutrogena Naturals facial wash
    Conditioner on beard
    Tabac SS
    Merkur 34c
    Super-max platinum
    Lather beard then hot towel
4 passes, j-hook on jawline, buffing on chin
    Hot towel
    Thayer's rose WH
    Cold water splash
    TSD Iced Cool Water milk
    PdP ASB

I'm still dealing with the aftermath of yesterday's rough shave around my Adam's apple, but the rest was a terrific shave, I properly blade buffed my chin and mustache and its smoother than ever before, j-hooked my jawline to get some of those pesky stubbles off. Pretty happy.
Have a great Wednesday and even better shaves y'all ;)

It has been around forever and won't be going anywhere anytime soon. This stuff is bomb, it has a light citrus scent and no alcohol. Super soothing, non oily, dries fast and when it dries the scent wears off so you can still wear your favorite cologne. I haven't tried any other LT products though.

This Slim is probably now my favorite razor. It's beat up and ugly but man, do I get some terrific shaves! I woke up early this morning and replaced the slave cylinder on my car, and after a nice hot shower and such a great shave I decided to go grab a haircut and found a nice pair of speakers for clearance Best Buy and put them in in about 30min. Everything has gone so well today, I'm waiting for the kicker.

Dropped my beloved W&B by accident last night. Damaged the edge. :(. Now it needs complete re honing. See if I can put the new edge from the very beginning. Anyway, I have another straight, so I changed the set up.
    4/8 Rebell from herzi
    Vie-Long horsehair brush
    Ceramic bowl
    Cleven SC
    Cold water splash
    Everest ASB w/cologne
Nice shave, despite the sad mood. That 4/8 has paper-thin blade, flexible and with sound feedback.

Result: DFS. The Shark blade was on it's last shave giving it a total of 4. I'll change after 3 next time, as the 4. is a bit dull, but amazingly no irriation what so ever.
Today's gonna be a good day. Shave on!

My shaving journey this morning took me to faraway Bangladesh where I enjoyed this lovely tropical-scented Kool Monsoon cream. It gives tons of rich, easy-to-create lather and a very nice menthol effect. After that, I stopped by in India for some cooling and soothing Anherb conditioner, and then all the way back to the US for the Rubby Dubby Doo. What a wonderful shave! ;) :D

I've been using my Weber Bulldog w/ Polished Head the past couple days. My first few shaves with it weren't great. I kept getting some minor irritation from it so I put it away for a bit. After getting it back out and really working on not using any pressure, my last couple shaves have been great. This is a heavy razor and "just letting the weight of the razor do the work" is still too much pressure for me. I have to choke up on the handle and control the pressure myself. Today, I got a DFS in 3 passes. Most of the razors I've been using lately take me 4 passes to get as close so I think maybe I'm starting to want to climb the aggression ladder a bit :). Maybe I'll start looking at slants.
I've also been using Personna store-brand stainless blades quite a bit lately. I'm starting to like them. They're sharp and pretty smooth. I can get at least 3 good shaves out of them too which lots of blades won't do for me. I even had one go 5 shaves in a Tech.
