Very nice shave with the R89/Ikon combo. The Polistar SI is an awesome blade; sharp smooth and it lasts a lot of shaves. I can't say enough about Al's Boheme SC and Clubman's SR scents; they pleasure me during and long after the shave.

    Thursday morning.

    Axe Chilled face wash
    Barbasol (Aloe)
    Van Der Hagen Boar Brush
    Gillette Goal Stainless (1)
    Gillette Ball-End Tech razor
    Witch Hazel
    Pinaud Clubman AF

For a DFS! Wow it feels particularly refreshing this morning.

Today’s shave was wonderfully comfortable with the amazing Gillette Goal blade. I love all the Gillette blades I’ve tried, and the Goal blade (made in India) was no exception. It was sharp and smooth as silk. I only needed a two pass with touch-ups for a DFS, and could’ve gone for a BBS if I had more time.

My trusty Barbasol Aloe is back after a month hiatus from my rotation. I was getting tired of mixing the lather each morning, my right arm is weak (the right side of my body is weak) and after mixing lather my arm was not up to holding the angle at certain times during the shave. So, Barbasol was an interesting experiment after making my own lather for a month. It saved my arm tremendously. I did the same prep, and hydrated before each pass and touch-up. Used my boar brush to work it into my whiskers. I have to say it worked better than my own lather (I’m a newbie) so the consistency was a welcome element to each pass of my shave.

I like having both options so I’m very happy the Barbasol experiment was a success.

Man, that Pinaud Clubman AS is one if the best.

No shame in that! I have a brushless LabSeries crème I use when I'm in a hurry or don't want to fuss (rarely the case) As for lathering... you can only get better! Shave on

Today was my favorite kind of shave, an experimental one :D
It was my first time using this brush, and I love it, I thought I would never look at a badger again when Semogue 2000 arrived, but this one surprised me. It lathered my Palmira soap faster than the Semogue, it even made thick lather in an instant when I tried de-funking it with Wilkinson blue bowl soap :) It's got nice backbone, but a lot less scritch than my pure badger. It was also the first time with the Bolzano inossidabile , I've heard good things about it , and they are all true (for now :) ) they are sharp and smooth , Astra SP teritorry.
But only two passes today, because tomorrow is another day, and one needs some stubble to experiment further :bounce015:

Wow, what a great shave I had today - smooth as silk and so effortless and comfortable. Russia makes some awesome creams and aftershaves - the Everest cream in the white tube lathers like a maniac and feels so cooling and fresh. Its matching aftershave balsam in the blue tube is also an eau de cologne, and it gives a DAMN good menthol sensation. My parents are visiting us from Florida and I offered Dad a tube of this cream and balsam, but he's not a menthol lover like me. ;) :D

I'm really starting to see how my tastes are changing from when I first started traditional shaving a few months ago. The Weber Bulldog was a little too aggressive for me at first but now that I've got the hang of it, I'm hooked. I really like the feel of it now and I've had some great close shaves with it the past few days. Tried it with an Astra SP today. I actually tried an Astra in this razor before and got a little burn from it. This time I really watched the pressure and made sure not to use any. Got a nice comfortable BBS on the face and DFS on the neck.

    Gillette Aristocrat #66 (or 22)
    Personna Platinum
    The Colonel (Best)
    MWF
    Proraso Splash
    Proraso ASB

Alright! I used my fancy British Aristocrat this morning, and it was honestly the best shave I have ever had! I thought rockets were great razors (not as smooth as my Muhle though), but this morning when I tried this, I really understood why wet shavers highly praise the barber pole Aristocrats. It is silky smooth when shaving, not aggressive but not mild. It is nice and heavy and the grip is superb. I have honestly never used anything like it, and it is another testament to me that the British cousins of the American Gillettes are better crafted. (An American aristocrat has nothing on this)

The shave this morning was perfect except for the lather. I was having issues getting it generated, then during my clean up I realized that I was using my best badger brush and not my Manchurian like I had thought....I was lathering as if I was using my Manchurian. Other than that it was a 3 pass BBS with zero irritation...and not a sting when applying my aftershave (when there almost usually is some sting no matter what).

I am very happy with the shave today!

    Happy Easter everybody!

Went easy on my neck today, only 2 passes below the Adams apple, tried a new blade for me and it gave a terrific shave, right on par with the super-max plat. Great shave to start another work week... Friday to Monday.

    Happy Friday to everyone:p

Thorsten, our weather is weird. Now, it's about +7C which is not bad at all, but a little windy. The forecast is for +11C perhaps on Sunday. Last year our spring and summer were magnificent - very, very HOT. Dad has no patience for these forums - more than once I tried to get him to join. He's a man of 91 years of age, bless him! (He also hates menthol!)
