Easter shave I took pics today! Ok, here goes: I started off filling the sink with hot water, my shave bowl, my Superspeed, and my EJ 25mm silvertip. Then I got out the Bio Palmyra SC that I mentholated myself and put some in the bowl (see arrow in pic) and wiped the excess off the lid onto my brush. Next, I shook out that furry bucket of water and began to lather. After about 30 seconds I added a few drops of water and worked until it was ready, about another 10 to 20 seconds. Then I smeared that frozen goodness on my face with the fur monster. 4 passes later a DFS appeared with almost no effort. Not too bad considering I completely forgot to prep my face, not even wet it (damn camera). Even after 4 passes there was still enough lather to probably do another 4, that EJ 25mm is a beast. A supple, supple beast.

Sunday - Happy Resurrection Day! Prep: Hot shower, hand strop blade, soak brush Coffee: Home roasted Costa Rica Tarrazu, black Soap: DR Harris Marlborough Brush: Omega 10098 Razor: Gem MM OC Blade: Gem, day 2, 3 passes Post: Cold water rinse, Brut A/S balm and A/S 'Stache Wax: Wacky Tacky Shave Rating: 3 Blades That MM OC sure gives a close shave. I just have to really pay more attention and use a bit less pressure. Too close and I wind up with razor burn (like I have this morning). I taped up my Krieger again this morning and made another practice pass. For some reason it seemed a little more awkward than yesterday. Glad I had the tape on!
Sunday, more SE fun Happy Easter, where applicable. Col. Conk's Almond soap in the mug. The rest you can see. I really do plan to use a DE razor again, really soon. SE and injector razors are just so darn good.
Easter Sunday: EJ DE87 razor Treet Black Beauty blade Vintage Williams SC w/lanolin Omega Boar Brush Osage Rub Pinaud Special Reserve Cologne The vintage Williams SC is marvelous, very close and comfortable today. I has not tried Osage Rub before. Wow, a little goes a long way. The Pinaud Special Reserve is quite strong. Not sure if how I feel about it (first use) but the wife likes it.
Sunday, April 04, 2010 Merkur 23C Super Iridium Simfix Grosvenor LE Two Band Super TOBS Avocado SC Generic Witch Hazel Proraso A/S Splash An absolutely great BBS shave--and this was the 11th shave on this blade. The TOBS Avocado cream is a fine performer and I like the scent. The fragrance reminds me of lily of the valley, but there is nothing in the ingredient list to support this idea. IMO, it's just a fresh, springtime scent. The Proraso splash provided a fine finish to this excellent shave.
Sunday: Omega Wooden Handle Goodfella/new Triton TSD Iced Subzero-SS :love008 :happy108 :anifrozen TSD Iced Subzero-AS Milk :love008 :happy108 :anifrozen Lubriderm unscented moisturizer Osage Rub-AS Splash :love008 :happy108 :anifrozen As always, JoAnna's magical and wonderful Iced Subzero soap and aftershave milk delivers arctic menthol cooling and comfort. This shave was excellent, but this Triton blade is not as sharp as I need, because of my beard being tough like barbed wire. For tomorrow, I'll change to a different blade. The Osage Rub put a final icy blast into my face, and it felt like heaven! Happy Easter!

SOTD Easter Sunday April 4, 2010 Razor: 5/8 Mehaz Solingen Soap/Mug: Tabac Brush: Custom Rosewood Silvertip ASB: Dickinson's Witch Hazel Aftershave: Pinaud Virgin Island Bay Rum MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! I have mastered the straight razor. Every shave I improve in the techniques and quality of the shave. My goal was to be able to receive a DFS and apply the Pinaud Virgin Island Bay Rum without stinging and burning. This morning's shave was the most complete, closest and without any irritation. To my relief the VIBR was painless. I know that I have much more to learn but, I feel I have gotten over the rough spots. I enjoy this type of shaving very much and will definately include it in my rotation a couple times a week. :happy108 Hope everyone has a Happy Easter and spends some time with family and friends. I have enjoyed very much all the great shaves and photos presented this week. Thanks for sharing these with us! :thanks
