You can do it Johnny, it's a fantastic razor, setting the blade in place takes a little getting use to, they have a blade applicator with the blades inside, but i rather place them in with my hands, because I remove the blade each time i use the razor to give it a clean, so it's a case of putting them back in, usually 4 shaves for me, like the Feather DE blades then I change blades.

Today was a first for me:
Hot shower and warm soak on the brush and soap
    EJ pure badger hair brush
EJ DE89L loaded with Lord Platinum blade (5th shave I believe?)
    EJ Sea Buckthorn soap puck
    Cool Waters A/S Splash
    Warm rinse
    Cool rinse
    3 pass shave, no touch-ups.

So, what was so unique about today's shave? I ran out of lather! :( My brush just did not load the EJ soap as easily as it has been lately, but I still thought I had plenty loaded up, got a nice lather built in my mug, and applied for my first pass a little wet and thin but good enough. Rinsed and dried my face before the 2nd pass since the lather was a little wet, got a pretty decent lather going, and went for the 3rd pass and just couldn't get a good lather at all. Looked at my brush and bowl and they were both just on "E" :angry032: I did a very quick and light ATG pass without burning or irritation. Didn't get a great shave, but considering I ran out of later :angry019: it was better than I expected. :)

SE Week!!! My first go 'round with an Injector. Monday 3-5-2012

Tunes - Chevelle, Any Last Words
    Pre - hot shower
    Razor - Schick Injector L1
    Brush - little best badger
    Soap - VDH unscented
Post - Cold water rinse + WH w/ alum
AS - Col. Ichabod Conk Amber
EdT - Ed Hardy for men

I've shaving with DE's since early January, and this is the first time I've experienced the lore that is BBS. HO-LEE-CRAP! It may have been because I was able to be a little more agressive with pressure with the L1, but man, freak'n smooth or what; a couple very minor rough spots, and the rest is so yummy I'm gonna be faceturbating allllllll day! Me likey.

    Menthol Monday

    Hot Shower (soak brush,Semogue 620)
    Proraso PrePost cream
Mama Bear's Awakenings shave stick, face lathered
    ikon OSS/Personna Med (1)
    Cold Water Rinse
    Monster Block Alum(clean brush,razor,police area)
    Cold Water Rinse
The Rub mixed with a pea sized amount of 444

I forgot about SE week also,I'll fix that with tomorrow's shave. The ikon OSS performed excellent today with the Personna Med.A very smooth shave using only the OC part of the head.I think I may have found the right blade for this razor. It felt smoother than the Gillette Black in this razor.

    Menthol Monday!

    Pre: TSD Ices SZ
    Soap: Mama Bear Lilac Ice
Witch Hazel: Thayers Original w/ 2 drops M Bomb
    Balm: Proraso After Shave Balm

Followed with the Osage Rub with a drop of 444

    :Animatedfrozensmily:

BBS! I'm glad I only ordered a sample sliver of the Lilac Ice soap. I've come to the conclusion, it is way to floral for my tastes. While the performance of the soap was top notch, I will not purchase this scent again.

    Nick,

Do you ever release the spring on your E2 to clean it?

Monday (even though it was at about 11:00pm Sunday night, I'm calling it Monday)

Pre-shave: TSD ISZ Pre-shave balm, hot shower, AOS Sandalwood shave oil
    Cream: AOS Sandalwood
    Brush: Simpsons Colonel
    Razor: Schick G1
    Blade: Schick
Post-shave: warm water rinse, cold water rinse, witch hazel
    Balm: AOS Sandalwood Post-shave Balm

I do love sandalwood. A pretty good 2-pass shave considering I was rushing. Every time I use this G1, it tells me that it is really lonely and needs some company. You know, it would like some of his own kind to talk to and hang out with. I really need to expand my injector line; the shaves I get from them are great.

Very seldom Randy - I try to rinse the razor well after each shave. Every other month or so I gently move the spring to the left, and give the razor a good scrubbing to remove the soap scum. I don't want to loosen the spring by monkeying with it too much.

30-minutes of soaking is Scrubbing Bubbles will take care of that soap scum and other nasty stuff that accumulates in there.

Prep: Hot shower; Yardley bath bar
Lather: De Vergulde Hand "extra fris" - face lather
    Brush: Semogue 1250
Razor: Gem Enigma (HFT, G-Bar, etc…)
Blade: Ted Pella PTFE (1); 3 passes
Post: Cold water rinse; Krampert's Finest Bay Rum

Very nice getting back to my beloved SEs after some DE trials. The Enigma worked well but was slightly lacking. I must be jonesing for a OCMM shave. I broke out the boar brush on the DVH in honor of the a PIF I just won from Mike for some more DVH and a DVH boar brush. It performed well and I'll be looking forward to breaking in the DVH boar soon. Thanks Mike!

How do you like the Semogue 1250. Looks to be the undyed version of the 1305.

It's my only decent boar so I don't have much to compare it to (only other boar is the clipped VDH boar). I look forward to comparing it to the DVH boar from Mike. The 1250 was given to me when I first started traditional shaving by a member on another board. It was already broken in and I had recently gotten my first badger brush. So the 1250 has not seen much use as I haven't developed an appreciation for it yet. With my hard water the badger's ability to hold more water really seems to help me. Today though I loaded longer and even added some more water when I was face lathering and got a very creamy lather. One of the creamiest out of DVH to date honestly. I'm now really looking forward to breaking in my first boar.

Yay!! SE week is here...and in my house; since birth; that means one thing...INJECTOR WEEK
I think Lather Catchers are maybe the coolest looking razor, but my heart belongs to Schick...;)
    Monday
Hot Shower, where I shampooed and conditioned my whiskers
Hot wet wash-rag held on face like at the Barber...:)
    Arko Shave Stick/Arko SC
    Omega 10029
    1955-58 Eversharp-Schick Hydro-magic
    re-branded Personnas D3
    Arko-Nem moisturizer/Rebul Lavanda Colonia/Arko Aqua AS

I shaved the past two days with an injector getting a jump on SE week...But I've been using my '38 Senator for 2 months and I've gotten really used to it....So for the past 2 days, great shaves, but not BBS like I've been getting every day with the Senator.
Well today my old Schick 'Chops' kicked-in with a vengence....Whiskers didn't have a chance....One of the easiest, smoothest, closest shaves of my life....Now I remember why everyone thinks I'm such a Schick fanatic.... I AM !!
I finger-tipped my 'I2" around my face with a light touch and high speed manuevers boardering on reckless abandon...3 passes and a chin to adam's apple; J-Hook; touch-up...and we're talking one effortless BBS of the highest order...Which of course leaves me shamelessly touching my face all day; fully enjoying the fruits of the 1st day of "SE Week"

This is an old shot but the razor. brush, Arko stick in a deoderant dispenser, and my mug with my Pop's mug on it are all the same....

We're Off and Shaving....Have a Great Week Everybody
