My French Frameback arrived yesterday with a fresh honing and I tested it out today. Wow, nearly 9 hours later everything's still nice and smooth. This edge is super sharp. The moment it touched my whiskers I knew it was time to stay alert. It was a great shave. Not particularly smooth but not unpleasant either. The alum was quieter than usual and very little in the way of touch ups needed. I'm looking forward to the next time out with this one.

Funny, i scored a never used 1912 still in its box for under 20$.... i have yet to use it, i also have other se's collected. i started with de and learned injector. the se gem is my next adventure. how was the 1st shave? angle seems really easy to learn...

 

I'll let you know tomorrow. I will break it in the morning. I paid about $10 bucks more. My 1912 also came in the box like new with the instructions and blades. Great snag on your part. Hopefully it will be a good experience for the both of us! I really dig your variety and collection. You always amaze me with what you are always pulling out of the bag of tricks! I'm trying to hold off until the Maggard's meet next weekend. I'm sure I'll pick up something with my son.

Tonight's shave was with a freshly restored, and honed razor. I had a fantastic 2 pass shave. The first pass left me with a DFS, and the second pass was BBS. This is a seriously sharp blade, and the aftershave went on, without a notice.
