    The Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #8 Pure Badger brush. Two passes with my Dad's Schick E3 razor and a Personna Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Barbasol Brisk after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Oh man, this is getting to be something else - ever since I bought a big bunch of these Stirling soaps, they're just about all I've been shaving with for the past couple of weeks. This Frozen Tundra is awesome. It has a great scent which I find unique in some ways. It seems to be a blend of wintergreen with peppermint, and some other notes which I can't really describe. It takes a bit of effort to get the lather the way I want it, but I'm patient with it and I know how to make it rich and thick. It has a tremendous amount of menthol which hits hard, and the skincare is moisturizing and very, very soothing. The Gold Bond and the Rubby Dubby Doo need no explanation. (I love them both!) When I finish these Dorco blades I'll never buy them again. ;) :D

    Thanks, I really like it. That is my #8. Friday, I will be replacing it with my #6, in the avatar, for a couple of weeks. I've just quit using store-bought brushes.

    I've been told that when your chemistry lends well with a scent that you can't smell it after the first little while. that doesn't mean other around you can't smell it.
    I'd ask someone a few hours later, if they can.
    that's only what I've heard, it could be bunk.

    I finished my Mayhem shaves with the MdC, and it worked very well for me once I dialed in the water/soap ratio. Next up is Le Père Lucien!

    I celebrated some shaving "firsts" this week. I picked up a new 2013 R41 head and some new-to-me razors, including an I3 Slim (a very generous PIF from @Bristle Me), a G2 (birth year) Fatboy, and an E2 Fatboy. I can already tell that these Gillettes have some heft and a very nice feel in the hand. This is my first foray into vintage DEs, and I look forward to trying them. Photos to follow. :cool:
