Prep - Hot shower and towel
    Brush - Omega Pro 48
    Soap - Arko
    Razor - Edwin Jagger DE89l
    Blade - [IMG] (1)

Day one of the mercy phase. Great to feel boar on my face with a nice Arko lather. I spent extra time whipping it up just because I can! The DE89l is the razor I have normally used to trial blades so I loaded a fresh Zaza up and went to work. Definitely a bit dull and draggy much like with the Soviet razors. With the good razor, though, I felt the blade a bit more as there was nothing interfering with it. Perfect alignment makes a difference. Going to call it a CCS, maybe a near DFS. I'd say it's about the same result as the Soyuz produced but with less alum feedback. I am going to switch to the RazoRock TTO tomorrow with the blade and see if that helps or hinders, but it does at least produce something you can live with.

Fantastic near BBS 2 pass shave this morning. The Super Pro blade is starting to smooth out after a couple of uses. As usual the MdC was a pleasure to use providing a slick lather. Finished up with witch hazel and Myrsol Balsamica from my sample pack. Happy Friday.

My face has been a bit sore lately. Might have overdone it with the Milord (still love using it though weird I know). I knew there was a problem when my face felt Dore when I was putting the Lather on. So just trusted products and razors for the next week or so.

Great shave today. Almost out of CC Lime. This is really good AS that pairs well with MITA soap. However, I don't think I will replace it. I have the matching AS from Stirling and I am trying to work my way through the AS stash I have. Admittedly, my stash is not as extensive as some, but pragmatism wins the argument (for once)... but that may be short-lived.

    Happy Friday everyone.

Prep: Hot shower with Neutrogena Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: GEM Micro Matic Clog Pruf, CMON Filarmonica Doble Temple straight razor
Blade: GEM PTFE coated SE (5)
    Brush: Turkish #6
    Soap: RazoRock - Neroli
After: Home made ASB, Nivea after shave balm
    Cologne: Aqua H2O

Happy Friday! The Neroli scent reminds me of the beach. The sun, sand, ocean breezes, sunscreen and citrus. The #6 brush whipped up the Neroli into a nice and thick lather. The MMCP and the Doble Temple did a fine job. The Nivea ASB and the Aqua H2O were a fine finish to a Darn Fine Shave.

    Have a blessed day!

Haslinger Coconut today. A friend sent me a puck. 30 seconds to load the Plisson. Great, easy, thick, lather. This is a very good soap! Personna Med Prep still in the Fatboy. Great smooth, close, shave. I finished with Krampert’s Frostbite.

This Franken razor makes a nice little beast. A head from a thin Handel Tech and Tuckaway handle from Ikon. Special reserve was a nice finish with the TOBS in the middle

Here is the almost 'official' timetable: If I were to "Titanic" my way through through this soap, my last shave would be on: Thursday, July 2, 2015. According to MdC website, the beech bowl weighs in at 90g. The soap new, weighs 230g. After today's shave (picture taken pre-shave) I will have about 145g of soap remaining. My usage is averaging 3g/shave, so I have about 48.3 shaves left.
    Not that I am counting...
All of this information is moot, because I intend on taking a MdC hiatus beginning a week from Saturday. :happy036:

The Brain Bowl was an impulse purchase--one I will not be repeating. :rolleyes005: I prefer the Fougère and, because MdC has proven with continued and constant usage to dry my face out, I will only use it occasionally in the future.

Face = BBS. Neck = CCS. I also stopped by the Barbershop this morning and got my hair did - basic training style shave. I'm only a blade away from shaving it slick but not quite ready to take that plunge just yet for some reason. This morning was my first time to sample Stirling Bay Rum. I'll write some comments on it in the Stirling Review thread. I had a few weepers this morning and was really anticipating the Captain's Choice Bay Rum A/S burning badly, but it wasn't anywhere as bad as I thought it would be. The Aqua Velva I put on immediately after shaving burned worse. I was not a fan of Captain's Choice Bay Rum, initially. Over a period of a few months with it mostly sitting on the shelf with occasional use at night, this scent has really grown on me. I used to say that the smell reminded me of an Old Western General Store, leather, a saloon, horses and dirt. Apparently, I now love the way all of those smell! :kngt:

    Soap: Stirling Bay Rum

    Razor: R-89 with SI blade

Post: Aqua Velva and Captain's Choice Bay Rum

    Cologne: Polo Black

    5/15/15 - Knockout Friday!!!

My first Schick Injector shave. A really good shave. Very close and smooth. It was light, so I had to really work at not putting any pressure. The blade is very efficient. BBS in 3 passes. I like it.

Gillette Goodwill #162 1934 (4 corner positioning posts)
    Brush: e-shave finest Badger
Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue
    Cream: Jack Black cream
    Blade: Feather (3)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Post Shave Gel, Old Spice Lime original Shulton cologne Frosted Glass 1960s

Second shave with the Dubl Duck Goldedge back from @gssixgun, after he honed it. Before I shaved with it the first time I looked at the edge on the Goldedge and compared it to my Special #1, which I stropped, a lot, under magnification, to see the difference in edges. My edge on the Special #1 looked good in comparison so I'm now not worried about stropping the Goldedge. I stropped it for 30 laps on my bench strop, after shaving with it the first time, and gave it 10 more before today's shave. It popped hair off my arm so my stropping was good, woo! Lathered up the Jack and off we go. Wow, very sharp and smooth, thanks Glen. I like the round point a lot. Very light pressure and no pull or drag. Getting better and a little closer doing most of my face using both hands and adjusting my angles. finished with my Goodwill and only needed 1/2 pass. So my stropping technique is good, which makes me glad, as I didn't hurt the edge. Nice cucumber smell with the WH, and then some soothing JB Gel. After cleanup some Old Spice Lime original Shulton cologne. Great shave, and I love this Duck!

This was my first shave in almost two months. In that time I've succesfully grown a full beard and the shavette was a logical choice for a first shave. I did two wtg passes for a pretty nice DFS shave resulting only in a few weepers that stopped as soon as cold water hit my face.
It's fascinating how much lather a hog produces when lathering on lenghty beard :)

    First pass results :D

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
Soap: Ginger's Garden Coffee Jasmine soap
    Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC
    Blade: Bic (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (1, 2)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, RazoRock One-X AS splash
Cologne: Le 3e Homme de Caron by Caron

Reminded myself to reach for the Ginger's Garden Coffee Jasmine soap today; it's a really nice custom scent with outstanding lather and protection. The new Bic was smooth enough that I briefly wondered if my previous blade was a bit 'off' in comparison, or if I'd just dulled it more than I thought. Extremely comfortable and close two-pass, DFS+ shave, finishing off all that jasmine with, you guessed it, more jasmine.
