What a difference a new blade can make in the shave. Loaded a fresh Super Pro up in the Goose and had a fantastic 2 pass near BBS shave. The Catie's Bubbles was very easy to lather and proved to be very slick. Finished off with Captain's Choice Sandalwood and ready for the day.

    5/13/2015 Wool Fat Wednesday!

Prep: Hot shower with Neutrogena Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: GEM Light, Friodur straight razor
Blade: GEM PTFE coated SE (4)
    Brush: Turkish #6
    Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
After: Home made ASB, Nivea after shave balm
    Cologne: Aqua H2O

A 2 pass Darn Fine Shave on Wool Fat Wednesday. The #6 brush did a fine job whipping up the MWF into a thick lather. The Friodur and the GEM did their jobs well. The Nivea ASB brought some needed moisturizing and the Aqua H2O will have me smelling good all day.

    Have a blessed day!

    Prep: Hot shower
    Soap: Arko
    Brush: Omega 13522
    Razor: Cadet OC
    Blade: Gillette Rubie
Post: Witch Hazel, Nivea Sensitive Balm
    Scent: Tommy Bahama Very Cool

Last day of my 30 Day! Tried a Rubie for the first time. 2 pass WTG & XTG. Jury is still out, decent shave though. Probably run everything the same tomorrow then be looking to mix things up a little. Got a G1 Injector to try out soon as I grab some blades for it.

Also, I think I missed posting yesterday. Pretty much everything the same, just with a GSB and a slightly better shave.

I'm a fan of both! As far as canned shaving cream, that's the coolest I've used. It wouldn't surprise me if others out there are colder, but it is the coldest canned cream I've tried.

Face = BBS and left my neck at a CCS. Few weepers and a sizeable sting with the A/S this morning, but worth it. :happy088:

    Soap: Stirling Glacial Wintergreen

Razor: R-89 with Super Iridium blade

Post: Thayers Lemon Witchazel, Cocoa Butter Lotion, Pinaud Clubman Musk

Cologne: Dolce Gabana (this stuff is so weak/light to me that I wind up using like 8-10 sprays and still can't smell it an hour and a half later on my shirt, unless I put my nose right up to it. Anyone else have that issue with Dolce Gabana? Is it my nose not being sensitive enough to that particular scent? I actually like the scent of this stuff, but it seems like it needs a few more doses of "oomph" to get it going.)

image.jpg Razor: Dubl Duck Goldedge 5/8 Round point 1947-52
    Gillette 195 Fat Boy (f1) 1960 (5)
Brush: Jerusalem Olive Wood/WD Silvertip 24/48
Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue
    Cream: TOBS Grapefruit cream
    Blade: Feather (2)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Post Shave Gel, TOBS Luxury AS

I just got this Dubl Duck Goldedge back from @gssixgun, after he honed it. Wow Glen does wonderful work. My other Duck is sharp, but this blade is insanely sharp. It popped hair off my arm like I have never seen. Glen sends a checklist and note on what he used to hone this bad boy, and boy, is it shave ready! Lathered up the TOBS and spent extra time hydrating my beard, so I could try to go smother with the Duck. Wow, very sharp and smooth, thanks Glen. I like the round point a lot as It makes it easier for me to get to some of my more challenging areas of my face. Very light pressure and no pull or drag. Getting better and a little closer doing most of my face using both hands and adjusting my angles. finished with my FB and only needed 1/2 pass. Still working all the angles, but getting better. Nice cucumber smell with the WH, and then some soothing JB Gel. After cleanup some TOBS. This was a fun shave, and I love this Duck!

Last night I took a break from the wilkinson sword razor and went back to one I know and enjoy the Lord L6. I know it's been said many times but the Lord L6 is a great razor for the money. I paid something like $10.60 for mine including shipping. The reason I say for the money is that cosmetically there are razors that the chrome and finish is nicer, but purely in regard to how it shaves this razor is great. It is mild yet efficient enough to get a close shave and it seems that while some blades are better than others there is no blade I haven't had success with in this razor.

    Last nights gear
    -Lord L6 razor.
    -Stephan stay smooth brushless cream.
    -Dorco blade (3)
    -clubman aftershave.

Result- a DFS with no irritation.

Sometimes I overlook the L6 in my rotation, but every time I go to it I ask myself why. I think I'll stick with it for a few days.

Glad to see barbasol getting some love. I find the arctic chill to have a nice level of menthol. Not so much that the face is numb while trying to shave, but enough that it is cool and tingly.

    Everything's coming up roses.....
    Cream: Geo. F. Trumpers Rose
    Brush: Rooney Heritage Stubby 3
Razor: vintage birth year and quarter Gillette Super Speed Red Tip
Blade: Iridium Super (super good) (1)
Aftershave: Fine American Blend ( because I can't find a rose aftershave)
I bowl lathered the Trumpers and use boocoo product because I love the smell of it, the Iridium Super is one of the rare in-production blades that competes with vintage imho. It's like there's no whiskers there to cut, I'm just removing the lather it's that smooth.
Three passes, as usual, not the slightest sign of hemoglobin and a bbs result...again as usual. I'm a very fortunate man, 99.9% of my shaves are bloodless and bbs.
A barber who gave me straight shaves long ago told me my beard was thick in density but very soft and I have zero sensitivity issues.
Anyway, finished up with the American Blend.....we're an American Blend, we're coming to your town we'll help you party down we're an American Blend .. Wooo Hoo
    excuse the rambling
