So far I love the soviet adjustable, I thought it would be more aggressive at 7 but it was smooth sailing. I am on the watch for a AS with a little bit of extra chill in it , but as my search has proven vain I mixed up some Pitralon classic and some peppermint oil (the little bottle in the back) and it works well but it ruins the Pitralon scent and peppermint comes out over everything else.

The AOS cream is much better than I want it to be. Not sure why, but I wanted to like TOBS more than AOS, and it's not happening. Even though the TOBS smells great, it can't touch the lather I'm able to make with the AOS. Maybe it's my method, but grudgingly I'll probably end up buying a tub of AOS Lavender before long. I do have a tube of Speick on the way, maybe that'll change things. . .

*** Feeling brave, and spurred on by today's great lather, I moved up to 3 on the Superadjustable, and hours later I still know about it. At this stage I can't imagine what 9 would do to my face. I'll probably go back to 2 tomorrow.

AOS Lavendar really is a great cream all around...cushion, lubricating, latherability, and scent is phenomenal!

I don't know exactly why I'm so resistant to the AOS stuff. I guess because it seems very "corporate" and sterile compared to the old English houses with 100+ years of history behind them, although several years ago I was gifted a tub of Lavender and really liked it, even though it was before I'd even thought about using a brush, and kind of smeared it on with my fingers and had at it with cartridges.

Here's an AOS question: does the product lose scent over time, or if it's stored improperly? I was shopping with SWMBO the other day and saw a bunch of AOS creams on sale somewhere, but when I opened a tub of the Lavender, it barely smelled at all, nothing like what I remembered from using it in '06. I didn't buy it.

Sorry...Can't really answer that...I use the product probably 2-3 times per week and this is my first tub. Should definitely have a very noticeable scent! Not sure if maybe what you found was a knockoff? The Sandalwood is really strong! Want to try that one too!

Wednesday evening. Using half a coconut shell for bowl week.

    Bowl: 1/2 coconut shell
    Razor: Merkur Slant

Good shave but a couple of nicks due to inattention. Nothing is so comfortable for me as a Feather, but they'll cut you quick if your mind wanders too much.

I really made up for my non-mentholated shave yesterday - the Arko Ice Mint cream has a very significant cooling sensation. It also smells beautiful and gives perfect lather and a good blade glide. The 444/Barbon duo can also put some heavy-duty icicles in a man's face after a shave. Ahhhh, it felt so good! ;) :D

Like many of you, I could shave every day for a month and never use the same equipment twice. For some reason though, I keep reaching for Arko soap, the Vulfix 404 and the 2011 Muhle R-41. This combo just delivers such an awesome, irritation free shave that I find hard to beat.

Headed to the beach condo with Shawna for 10 days! Have a great weekend Ya'll!
