    Friday!
    • Prep:hot shower
    • Brush: #6 horsehair
    • Cream: Proraso Green
    • Lather: Bowl lather in a suribachi for bowl lather week.
    • Razor: EJ89dl
    • Blade: Shark Super Chrome
    • Shave: 3-pass
    • Post: Pinaud Clubman
First time to use the Shark blade, got a nice shave but it wasn't as smooth as the Personna blues or Astra SP's in the EJ. Squeezed the Proraso tube dry and ended up with more cream in the bowl than I expected, it made a fantastic lather.

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, did I ever freeze my face off this morning - there's nothing colder than Iced Subzero soap or cream. Also, the lather is a delight to work with and the skincare is perfect. The Visal gel is almost 100% pure menthol, and the Rubby Dubby Doo is as awesome as always. ;) :D

Have a great weekend, folks! :)

    Friday

    Prep: Hot shower, AoS PSO
Coffee: Maxwell House French Roast, BLACK
CD: Martin Scorsese Presents ~ Stevie Ray Vaughan
    Soap: TSD Tabac Type
    Brush: Semogue 2000
    DE: '55 Blue Tip
Blade: ASR Platinum Chrome, day 4, 3 passes
Post: Cold water rinse, ice water splash, Thayer's Rose Petal WH w/ Aloe Vera, Pinaud Clubman
    'Stache Wax: Firehouse Wacky Tacky

For me, it's more about the shave than the results. This Blue Tip is a very mild razor and always seems to leave a little stubble along the jaw line, but I just think it's cool to shave with something older than I am. As I've said before, I've reached a point with my gear and technique that there is no such thing as a bad shave, just some are better than others. All around, this was a good shave. :)

    Acca Kappa
    22mm Omega boar

This razor arrived in the mail yesterday, the world famous Nev-A-Hone, lol. I picked it up for a few reasons, it was 6/8, in good shape, made of Sheffield steel and cheap. I have no idea where it was made but the distributor was Nev-A- Hone Razor Strop Company. All joking aside, It it turned out to be a simple, very well made razor. It took a superb edge and gave an outstanding shave this morning. Acca kappa is good stuff, my favorite of the Italian almond scented creams, skin care is excellent, just a really good cream. Have a good one.

Friday morning. First of seven days off. My son woke me up at about a quarter past six this morning. My wife took him to feed him, but instead of going back to sleep I recognized a golden opportunity and ran for the bathroom.

Schick E2 Injector with Schick blade (5)
    Omega 20102 Pro Boar Brush,
    ARKO shaving soap,
topped off with cold water, Witch Hazel and Captain's Choice Bay Rum

Cold water two pass+ for a really smooth comfortable DFS!

I finally achieved a wonderful luxurious lather and shave with ARKO! I basically mixed on the puck with the Omega full of water, based on Zach's famous article on Boar Brushes. It worked!

    Aces!

Edit: Hours later I'm feeling a slight burn on my face, so my lather must've been too wet, probably didn't have the cushion I needed with the E2! Still, a DFS!

Tried my Harris samples today. I really liked the Arlington. The soap lathered great and smells terrific. The splash was great aside from scent. It smells like I'm smelling a fresh pack of cigarettes. I'm a smoker and even I thought it was too much. It did seem to mellow a bit once on but I can't shake that first impression. I guess that's a YMMV thing.

Great shave today, but for some reason I am having a difficult time getting a nice lather from Tabac cream. Suggestions?
