Have not used a Treet Dura Sharp Classic in weeks. It really was a treat to use, and a nice break from the feathers. The Institut Karite is also a joy to use and is becoming my go to soap. It is very smooth and velvety, and leaves your face feeling moisturized.

    • Vie-Long Pony Horsehair Brush
    • Edwin Jagger Sea Buckthorn Soap ~ :)
    • Lord L6 Razor

Climbed into the truck with my daughter yesterday to go do some shopping, and she exclaimed, "Dad, you smell awesome!" :D

Used much the same setup as yesterday, but used the tiny Pony brush from Vie-Long, and had the same great result.

Feather blade. Shave one - WOW!!!!!

Well, I've read a lot of threads here and there about how wonderful and deadly this blade is. It seems as though it's either loved as the pinnacle of the DE shaving experience, or it is feared and avoided. The latter of which was my position for the longest time.

This is certainly a blade that should be respected and it's no Dorco 300 for sure, but once I started shaving with it in the EJ razor, all I felt was creamy smoothness and no hair left behind. If a blade can feel "creamy" this is it. The only other blade I have described as "creamy" in it's smoothness is the Brazilian Wilkinson Sword blade, but unfortunately they are hard to come by and only last about two - three shaves. If subsequent shaves with this Feather blade prove equally as smooth and close for at least four - five shaves, it may bump everything off for me. I've never gotten such a smooth shave in two passes before. It married beautifully with the EJ razor as well - perfect fit!

One small weeper right at the tip of the ol' Adam's apple was the only flaw in this shave, but a common nick for me anyway.

    Omega 6217 pure badger brush
    Edwin Jagger DE89L
    Feather, 1

Clubman styptic for that one nick

    Wonderful! Happy shaving!

    Pre Shave: Noxema
    Brush: Omega 48 Pro
    Soap: Arko
Razor: Simmons Hardware 5/8ths 'Barbers Pet'
    A/S: Pinaud Clubman

First try using the Noxema as a pre shave. Color me impressed. The result was a very creamy lather. My face felt a bit tight after shaving, but I will be trying the Noxema again for the next several shaves. I want to see if I experience the same results with other soaps/creams.

Another Williams mug soap day. I finally got a very nice lather from it. I notice the soap is sensitive to water quality. I have a stable lather with bottled water but lather with my regular water falls after minutes, even as it seems to be rich and creamy at first.

    Omega 10029
    1954-58 Eversharp Hydro-magic
    Long's/Personna (Day2)
    Arko Nem moisturizer/Maximum Comfort AS

Whoa!! Finest Uber-Lather I tried yet! I thought all Arko creams were the same except for scent, I was wrong...This combo for lather produced such a protective slippery surface...I couldn't believe it. And the scent was great too...And the blade was so sharp and the Schick has the perfect blade angle....Therefore chalk-up another Historic Shave experiance..:happy108

Thank goodness I have 3 more tubes of this Tibet Forest Fresh cream in reserve, because it's fantastic. I finished off the tube that I was using today, as well as a tube of Nord-ost the day before yesterday. This Bangladeshi-made cream lathers like there's no tomorrow, and the menthol effect is STRONG! ;) :D
