  1. After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

    Shavemac 22mm silvertip
    1930's type Aristocrat/ Bic Platinum
    J Peterman 1903 SC
    Lucky Tiger AS
i Profumi di Firenze 'Legno Amaro' EdT

The recent discussions on open comb types was the reason for today's choice of razors. I've used this(aggressive to me) razor a bunch of times, and have tried 4-5 different blades in this one. I think the Bic is the best so far, and today's shave was quite nice. Yeah, a milder blade like this works much better than others like feather, Iridium, and 7 0'clock, which are on the very sharp side. It can really help to match the razor to the right blade.

I went slowly and used NO pressure.....and none is needed with this baby. I can actually feel how effective this set up is in whacking the whiskers.....more so than my usual set up. The resulting shave was extremely close, with zero irritation.......almost perfect! No, the actual shaving comfort level wasn't quite as good as my fatboy, but man...........talk about BBS results.

Anyway, a very nice change of pace..........highly enjoyable.

First use of the old school Skin Bracer I picked up at a sale the other day. Good stuff. It seems to smell a bit different that the stuff in the plastic bottle.

Shave number 8 on the Iridium super and no signs of weakening.:D

First shave with a SE. Not bad, but nothing special. 1 weeper under my chin that surprised me. Very mild irritation in a couple places and perfectly acceptable but nowhere near BBS shave. I think it's technique as it definitely feel different than a DE. I also figured out what changed with my MWF. Somehow I'm getting more soap loaded on the brush without it appearing so. I backed off on how much I load on the brush and everything's back to normal.
