Muhle Sophist Silvertip Tabac Soap (love that scent) Henckels Travel DE Super Max Blade (1) Tabac After Shave Lotion Pre De Provence Shea butter enriched After Shave Balm First time using the Henckels. It is mild and very light. It was also the first time using a Super Max Blade. Unfortunately, I did not like the blade. Still a close shave, and the Tabac scent filled the room. Happy Friday!
~~Pirate Friday~~ A long hot shower. Prepped with Johnson Baby Oil. Parker Badger whipped a mound of Pirates Cove Bay Rum Ginger. The razor of choice was a Gillette Fat Boy dailed up to #7. Blade of choice was a Trig, I think this blade neds to walk the plank. I followed with a splash of Ogalla Bay Rum w/ peppercorns. Ah matey the shave results were good.

The reason I did that is because of the consistency. This particular tube's cream is a little harder and stiffer, because of the fact that this brand is partially hand-made, so some tubes have a softer cream than others. I really enjoyed the shave.
Saturday, May 07, 2011 Pre-shave soap: Musgo Real Glyce Lime Razor: 1967 Gillette Slim Adjustable Blade: Astra Superior Platinum Brush: Vulfix VS/5 Boar Soap: Proraso Classic A/S: Dickinson's Witch Hazel, Proraso Splash Kind of an "old timey" Saturday shave this morning--very refreshing. I love my Slims and should use them more often. Back in the day, when I was just starting to shave, I progressed from a Tech to a SuperSpeed, and finally to a Slim. However, I really didn't know what I was doing and was very happy to get a shave that, today, I would consider barely acceptable. I used Rise canned goo, because I thought canned goo was a very "cutting edge" (sorry about that) product. My dad wisely would have nothing to do with the goo.
Saturday - it's the weekend! :happy069 Time for the SEs!! Prep: 30 minute marinade with TSD ISZ PSB, hone and strop str8, hot shower, soak brush Coffee: Home roasted, fresh ground Rwanda, BLACK Hone: Duro Strop: VB 2" Black latigo/linen Soap: TSD Florida Water Type Brush: Mohawk 3-338 Str8: Boker Red Injun, 3+ passes Post: Cold water rinse, RazoRock rub down, ice water splash, SJ Unforgivable 'Stache Wax: Steve's Own Shave Rating: 5 Blades One of the better st8 shaves I've had in a while. Close, comfortable, smooth all the way 'round. And still only using the str8 with the dominate hand for the entire shave! I've found that lather from a soap can smell a bit different from the scent that comes off the puck. The TSD Florida Water Type is one of those soap scents that I'm a little indifferent to as I smell the puck. Today, though, for what ever reason, the scent from the lather just hit me as being the perfect scent for this shave.
