YSL pour homme is indeed a throwback, but a fantastic "citrusy"-ish scent.

    SATURDAY'S SHAVE

    Perfumed by:
    Jean-Louis Sieuzac & Michel Almairac
    [IMG] [IMG]

Razor - West Coast Shaving Midnight Collection 84B
Blade - Treet Carbon Steel *3rd Shave
Shave Brush - RichMan Shaving "Lava Flow Red"
Preshave Soap - PAA Cube with Dock
Shaving Soap - The Shaving Shop "The Deal Maker" *Discontinued
    Aftershave - Dior Fahrenheit
    Deodorant - Dior Fahrenheit
    Fragrance - Dior Fahrenheit

Time to debut the next set. Dior Fahrenheit. That's right. I got a most excellent matching lather brush from RichMan Shaving. Everyone has to own a RichMan Shaving brush, right? :D I have really enjoyed the shaves this week. So many good ones.

***EDIT - 2 pass + clean up. The RichMan lather brush did its duty generating perfect lather. I have to say that the PAA CUBE and the discontinued Shaving Shop "Deal Maker" soap I bought used really seem to be made for each other as the lather was some of the best I've ever used. Slick, protective. The shave produced no nicks, no cuts. One side of the black Treet Carbon Steel DE blade was not cutting well, so I flipped it over and the other side just glided over the skin effortlessly. No nicks, no weepers, no cuts. BBS. Zero irritation. Total comfort. I considered using the Chill Mill menthol crystals but I'm glad I didn't.

The Fahrenheit aftershave really impressed me in that it clearly has some kind of skin-treating residue that tightens up and seems to be really well made. I don't know how they balanced their lotion ingredients but it seems perfect. Not greasy. Not slick either. My skin seemed 'tight' and somewhat moisturized while being dry at the same time.

This whole shave was impressive and this whole week was one of the best weeks for shaving in the last 3 years of wet shaving enthusiasm. Today's shave is yet another 10/10 result. I'm so glad that my shaving game was 'on' and I didn't end up butchering the job like happens on occasion.

    MAYhem!!! 2019

    May 10

    Razor - Muhle R41
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
    Soap - Stirling Sheep
    Brush - Jayaruh #46
    Post - Alum

Second night with the R41/Sharp Star. I picked up the Stirling Sheep. Think I'll run through the mutton tallow soaps and this is a fine one to start with. Unscented, other than that musky sheep fat thing that isn't at all offensive. The quality of the lather is absolutely second to none. With the JR46 it whipped up into a very thick and cushioned lather with slickness to last a week. After three passes my face feels like it's been moisturized instead of shaved. I really enjoy rinsing the brush and squeezing what's left into my hand. It's like holding a soft yet supportive pillow in your hand. That's the best I can describe it. Long live dead sheep fat!!

Three passes and the baby is back yet again. Alum was just a tad sharp on a couple of spots on my neck. I got a little heavy handed with the already heavy and aggressive Muhle. No blood, though, so that works.

Hope you have a great Saturday and a fantastic weekend! I'll be off and running tomorrow afternoon until the night is quiet again so my next official report will be Sunday!

    ram57 Don't Open til Christmas

Five years ago a store was going out of business and the advertised 50% off. Went in and they had 4711 aftershave and the cologne, 3 bottles each. I went to buy 2 each but the manager said if I took all of them he would sell at 33% each so bought all 3 sets. Kept 2 sets gave third too buddy in California.
