I’m never sure where to post shaves with a wedge razor. It’s very short straight blade that has to be honed and stropped but held in a device like a single edge. Guess I’ll just post in both places. The is the razor I use to clear away beards and thick stubble. The edge is one of @Billyfergie ’s best. It’s a fantastic razor - the Nordic Queen rules :happy036:

The Merry Mixed Up Month of May!

Razor - Gillette New LC (Delta Echo)
    Blade - [IMG]
    Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat
Brush - 30DC LE Meet Up Brush w/ SynBad
    Post - Alum

Welcome to Memorial Day Weekend! Thunderstorms are closing in so it's now official. We may have them through Monday which is ok. No plans anyway other than just to relax. Decided to pull out a favorite razor tonight and relax with it! The Gillette New LC, with Delta Echo finish. The New is one of the best Gillette ever made, and this one is a beauty. I paired it with a Rapira Swedish Supersteel, mainly because I rarely use these blades. I tend to favor a couple of others, but this blade is sharp and just as good as anything with the name Rapira on it. MWF for a great lanolin lather and the 30DC meet up brush to whip it into shape. Good looking shave, as well as one that has the best of everything.

Three passes and the baby is in the house and I'm ready to sit back and watch the lightning. Hope you have some fun this weekend and stay safe!!

***EDIT - 1-pass + targeted clean up. I don't normally get the thickest lathers from this shaving soap, but this time around I found the way to get the lather to perform right. I've been loading and lathering the Catie's Bubbles soap incorrectly. The key is to wring out all the water from the brush and don't wet the soap. Load the soap on a damp brush to ensure it loads 'thick'. Then face lather with it and it's extremely rich. I only add a drop here or there of water into the lathering process on my face. It's extremely cushiony, protective lather. Just dialing in the water very slow allows to keep the protection very high while getting just the right glide and slickness. I don't get the slickest soap ever, but the glide is very good. It's the protection I always thought was lacking in the soap-version vs the Catie's Bubbles 'cream' version. Now that I know how to work the soap version correctly I think it's great. I still prefer the cream version though, but I finally got the soap to do what I've expected based on its reputation.

It’s amazing the amount of channels that only broadcast teleshopping!

I can understand commercials that, on average, are based on emotional impact and on the certainty of an audience with an IQ of one, maximum two figures, but looping a commercial obsessively…

Who the heck would listen to that?
Me, for example: I was fascinated by a girl whose physique bordered on perfection… who was wearing a pair of leggings (I think they’re called that) that induce excessive sweating.
    Why?
To lose weight! Even if you don’t need it!
    What’s the message?
That helps people who don’t need to lose weight to loose it?
So… what should be used by who does need to loose some?

And how would it make them lose weight? By sweating!
Doesn’t anybody understand that if you could slim down dripping sweat, your clothes wouldn’t be wet with water but soaked with fat?

They should apply the laws on the abuse of weakness to commercials!
And they should also be applied to shaving stuff advertisement. So I would have not bought so much!

When I think how much I spent on four samples of cream…
I shaved well, but, at that price, was mandatory!
