    Friday morning:

A quickie but a very goodie with this setup!

Capra soap as a facial wash
    Razorock Plissoff 26mm Monster
    Junjie/Wilkinson Sword day 2
    Barbon SC
    Gold Bond Moisturizer
    Brut Oceans AS Splash

This Junjie DE is so cheap - believe it or not I paid less than three dollars for it at a dollar store right near my house but it’s so efficient in spite of it being relatively mild. The Barbon cream from Hungary smells really nice, just a small dab on my chin is enough to get such thick, rich, cushiony, protective lather, it has a very unique feature because it acts like anesthesia on the skin so it prevents any pain from a nick or a cut and it stops any bleeding immediately, not to mention how soothing it is. The Gold Bond moisturizer also works great as a balm - lots of soothing and cooling from it. Finally the Brut Oceans aftershave which smells awesome. Three swift passes gave me an excellent BBS shave that I enjoyed very much!

Have a good weekend - be well and stay safe![IMG]

R41, to me, is just too aggressive to use by someone who is a daily shaver and has somewhat sensitive skin. If you only shave every couple of days, your skin has plenty of time to rest, so R41 works great.

I find that my “sweet spot” is with medium aggressive razors, like Parker Variant at 3-3.5 or Maggard V3A. Paired with a sharp blade, they deliver an efficient shave that’s still very comfortable. And 7 O’Clock Yellow works great in both of those razors.

The mild razors require extra scrubbing, the aggressive razors cut too close and both often result in irritation.

Try pairing that R41 with a mild blade, it may actually be a great combination.

Bolzano Superinox (2) from an old “vintage” stock bought in 2019. I believe I read they no longer produce these blades in Germany.

A good, smooth, uneventful shave. This was my 3rd use of Bolzano since I first tried them in 2019. Back then, they would cut me every time I tried to use them, so I gave up after 2 blades. Now, it was a nice no drama shave.

I used my 2011 R41 for an entire month. 30 straight shaves. At the beginning it tore my face up. By the end of the month, I owned that razor. I contend that any razor can shave any face with any blade---with the proper technique.

    Persistence Personified!

I agree. It comes down to how much effort and patience one has.

I’ve used R41 as a daily shaver for over a week, with Russian Astra SP which was my go-to blade for years. Every single shave was great and completely trouble free. But after about nine days or so, my face felt like I had a light sunburn. Perhaps with milder blades it would perform differently.

Perhaps a shallower angle would reduce the "scraping".

I haven’t used this razor in a while, but I believe I pretty much rode the cap with it.

Razor : Yaqi Romulus 316 SSP SE 50mm with a Chippendale 316SSP handle. Mfg 2023>, mild to tame mid range depending on blade or gap shim used. I find this razor very enjoyable because it is nimble + for what reason my Kai Titian blade seems to last longer in this razor which is good for me. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Kai Captain Titian mild(8) sharp and smooth with excellent longevity.
Soap : Razorock M.F., nice cologne masculine scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Barber pole" 24mm 2band badger. Excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, Very nice splay scrubber + great lather painter. Great overall brush + handle is great for large handles.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock MF splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : Dial 9.5.jpg or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers=[IMG] Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Romulus SSP razor with a Kai Captain titian mild blade.
