I don't know whether the TR-1 is neutral or -ve exposure, but Oh my days, what an outstandingly smooth/efficient shave that was.. glorious.

Before I was old enough to shave, our barber would finish me up with a couple of drops of Osage Rub on my neck. I loved the scent.

Sunday morning’s Atomic Grand Freeze:

Hot shower
Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
Super Speed/7 AM day 8
Stirling Glacial Spearmint SS
Stirling Glacial Spearmint ASB
MSC Frosted Spearmint AS Spray
Acqua di Selva Cologne

To call this shave frigid would still be an understatement because truthfully and honestly it was borderline painful but I LOVE that sensation. The Glacial Spearmint soap has such a beautiful scent that filled my bathroom, the lather is absolutely FABULOUS, the menthol blast hits you immediately, each pass makes it feel stronger, and the postshave feeling is numero uno. The matching balm has the same scent as well as a helluva strong menthol kick along with so much moisturizing and soothing while the Frosted Spearmint aftershave from MSC is not only colder than the Arctique from Barrister & Mann, it smells exactly like the Glacial Spearmint. Finally the Acqua di Selva cologne which has a lovely minty scent and I’m good to go. Another dynamite three pass BBS shave that was sheer delight and pleasure!

The Col. Conk Amber Shave Soap lathered well with Frank Shaving Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Superior Lather Catcher Razor and the Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Derby City Chop Shop Winter Reserve After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

2 days growth

Thought I would try the Proraso Wood and Spice pre shave and the matching cream again:

Usual prep: the Preshave didn’t perform as well as I would have liked and neither did the bowl-lathered Proraso Wood and Spice. So much so, that for the 2nd pass I promptly reached for the Stirling and handed the baton over to the Ozark Mountain to finish the business

2 passes were needed with the Gillette 7 o’clock sharp edge SS (1) mounted in the Gillette Red tip leaving much to be desired and resulting in more touch ups than usual. The blade is sharp enough, maybe a bit less smooth than some of its other stablemates, but by taking it slowly and sticking to the plan the job was done well enough. An efficient shave, less enjoyable than my other shaves: it took a bit longer than usual, but after all it is Sunday and we had already had our early morning ½ hour walk under the belt (managed to dodge the rain so that was a bonus)

Proraso Barbe Dure ASL tinged with some Oud, following by the Proraso Wood and Spice Spray Cologne. Pleasant and long lasting scent

Efficient rather than enjoyable workmanlike shave

I think the Proraso cream may benefit from face lathering next time… but I think I will give it a rest for a while…let’s see

Ah, NOW I remember what you said the first time. I'll stick with Osage, and some Stoylin Glacials. Course I have Mennen Skin-Bracer,and Clubman Gent's Gin too, which I've always liked, but the others are colder, as we know. Here's a banana story for you-my Mom told me I loved bananas while growing up, but I'm not crazy about 'em now.

It’s May 25, Towel Day! In honor of Douglas Adams and one of my favorite (5/6 book) trilogies! Of course I had to go with Barrister and Mann’s 42 and I went my galactically colored Guerrilla aluminum paired with a Wizamet!

42 is just perfection. The Guerrilla is an amazing tool. The Wizamet always does my skin right. Don’t Panic!
