    Sunday

Prep: Hot shower, soak brush, AoS pre-shave oil
CD: Glenn Kaiser ~ Blues Heaven, vol. II
Coffee: Home roasted, fresh ground Malawi Mapanga AA, BLACK
    Soap: AoS Sandalwood
    Brush: Omega 49
    SE: Gem Micormatic Clog Pruf
Blade: Gem, day 4, 3+ passes
Post: Cold water rinse, ice water splash, Dickenson's WH, B&BW Oak
    'Stache Wax: Steve's Own

    Shave Rating: 5 Blades

BBS! I've been using a pre-shave oil or TSD ISZ PSB for the past two weeks. What a difference in my shaves. Much closer, smoother, and more comfortable.

First time using an Art of Shaving soap. Not bad, lather and performance wise. Actually pretty good. The scent is fantastic. Worth the price? I don't think so. There are plenty of other soaps out there that perform just as well (maybe I'm just not overly picky or critical) and cost much less. I was able to get it, along with the pre-shave oil, because I was given an AoS gift card for my birthday. I won't complain! :D

    Booster Mosswood AS :love029: :love029: :love029: :love029:

I wish I would have had a little extra time so I could have stropped up my Dovo Bismarck for today's shave, but unfortunately I didn't. Still, I had a very enjoyable shave with my favorite DE and a wonderful Brazilian cream. This Palmindaya stuff lathers like a maniac and has a beautiful barbershoppy scent, with a nice cooling sensation. The Booster Mosswood aftershave is a Canadian barbershop classic, and a top favorite of mine. ;) :D

Barbon splash mixed with a pea sized amount of 444

Nice 3 pass face 1 pass head,BBS all around. One thing I can say about the Schicks I've tried so far, they give a great headshave, nice and close no weepers so far.For the face they do a good BBS shave for me,I just dont find them to be smooth like a Gem or Cobra Classic. That's not a bad thing I shave with a r41 and that's not a smooth shaver either, efficient but not smooth same with the Schicks.

    Dickinson's Witch Hazel

    Pinaud Lilac Vegetal ASL

The Lilac Vegetal is a very vintage scent which has been around for well over a hundred years. Folks either love it or hate it (I love it!) but, it still has a very loyal following. I thought about Lilacs this morning because the French Lilac bushes in front of my shop have been blooming this past week and the scent is heavenly! I'm definitely over-doseing on Lilac today.

Saturday, May 27th (I didn't get a chance to post yesterday)

Pre-shave: TSD ISZ PSB, Hot shower
    Soap: TSD English Fern
    Brush: The Colonel
    Razor: Merkur 39c Sledgehammer
    Blade: SuperMax (4)
Post-shave: warm water rinse, cold water rinse, witch hazel
    A/S: Pinaud Classic Vanilla
    Moisturizer: L'Oreal Men's Expert Vita Lift w/ SFP 15

I've decided to start dwindling down my soaps and creams, so today I used the last of my English Fern. I really like the scent of it and of course the TSD soap performed great. The 4th use of the SuperMax blade in my Sledgehammer provided another great shave. I did a 2-pass DFS+ shave, just shy of BBS. Very comfortable and smooth.

It's a Col Conk Barbershop Badger that I got at one of the shaving suppliers on-line. Here is a link: http://www.colconkproducts.com/inde...t=20a&page=2&zenid=co4ai1ikb122he9eslps9ed355 It's a clipped Badger knot so it's a little scritchy but still works great for Shave Soaps. Thanks!

I forgot how much I love MWF until this morning, I really could use only this soap and be content - heck I might when I start scaling down my shave den! Gave both my razors a honing - including a full bevel set on my coticule, they are performing outstanding though I bet they'll feel like junk after trying the razor I bought from Glen gets here ;)
