Thanks a lot, Jeff, now I need to buy an OC to test your theory. ;)
You know what! I just looked back at my SOS post, at the day that I first used the Bolzano and it was in my Merkur 39C slant. That is the day that I really liked it. Very interesting. Thanks, Jeff, I may have to revisit these blades the next time I use my slant.

    Prep: Hot shower
Lather: RazoRock La Famiglia Cumba Cheech - face lather
    Brush: Semogue Owners Club boar
    Razor: Gem OCMM
Blade: Gem PTFE (1); 3 passes
Post: Cold water rinse; Krampert's Finest Bay Rum

La Famiglia Rocks my Razor as well as my face and neck. I can't get over how soft and smooth my face feels after using this soap. My skin is really liking the high quality coconut oil here and the scents are impressive. I've not lathered anything else that continued to smell better as you lathered it. Both Zi' Peppino and Cumba Cheech are here to stay. Even after lathering my wife's legs with Don Marco last night I began to appreciate that one even more too. This stuff is scary good. So good it's scary cause you might not want to use anything else!

Pre-shave: Hot shower, wife's hair conditioner
Soap: RazoRock La Famiglia Cumba Cheech
    Brush: AOS best badger
    Razor: Schick G1
    Blade: Schick (1)
Post-shave: warm water rinse, cold water rinse, witch hazel
A/S: RazoRock La Famiglia Cumba Cheech A/S Balm
    Moisturizer: L'Oreal Men's Expert Vita Lift w/ SFP 15

A great 2-pass shave this morning. This was my first time using the Cumba Cheech after using the Zi Peppino yesterday and I have to say I like the Zi Peppino better. The scent of the Cumba Cheech was really nice, but it was very subtle. Even with the A/S Balm I wasn't able to detect the scent not long after my shave; whereas with the Zi Peppino, I was getting whiffs of it for a few hours after. Performance wise, this stuff is awesome though! Super easy to lather and really slick. This stuff is a fantastic product. Have a great day everyone!

Excellent shave this morning. This Molinard is interesting stuff, great skin care. It's so totally different from a brush and soap. I'll be exploring a couple more brushless creams on payday. 4th shave on the Bolzano and it's retired, loaded up a Shark for tomorrow's shave.

Getting good lather by bowl lathering but I feel it lacks a certain something compared to face lathering.

Getting a DFS/BBS with this razor seems so effortless that I am now seriously contemplating selling my DE gear ( except 1 razor and a few blades).

Now I'm thinking of getting another injector or two ;) so I see how the various models shave.

Prep: Hot shower, soak brush, TSD ISZ PSB
CD: Promise Keepers - Seize the Moment: Worship for Men
Coffee: Home roasted, fresh ground Malawi Mapanga AA, BLACK
    Soap: Vintage Blades House Brand
Brush: Vulfix 404, The Grosvenor badger/boar mix
    Razor: Parker 80R
Blade: ASR Platinum Chrome, day 3, 3+ passes
Post: Cold water rinse, ice water splash, Osage Rub, Curve, hand strop blade

    Shave Rating: 5 Blades

I don't know why I waited so long to try the TSD ISZ PSB by putting it on just before the shave. I've always put it on and let it marinade my face for about 30-40 minutes, then shower it off.
Actually, I do know why. I was concerned about gunking up my razor and brush. But after trying AoS pre-shave oil and getting such a great shave, I figured I'd try the TSD PSB, applying it just prior to lathering up. I figure my razor and brush are tools to use. I won't abuse them, and they can always get a good cleaning if they get gunked up. Well, it's been almost every day for the last week and a half with the TSD PSB. The shaves have been noticeably closer and more comfortable. Darn near BBS almost every time. I'll be honest and say I'm not keen on smearing "grease" all over my face, but I won't argue with results; my face is certainly liking it! By the way, I haven't noticed any gunk build up. :happy088:

Typical day with a shower first.
Bowl lathered De Vergulde Extra Fris, soap with a LuJin badger.
Day four for the Gold Tech and 7 o'clock blue. IMG_0228.JPG

After two pass shave, cold water rinse, RazoRock Alum and TSD after shave splash.

First impression of the De Vergulde shave soap was very positive. It lathered with no problem, great scent, cushioning was just right.
    Expectional DFS.
