Pre-shave: TSD ISZ Pre-shave balm, hot shower
    Soap: RazoRockLa Famiglia Don Marco
    Brush: Simpsons Colonel X2L
    Razor: '62 Slim
    Blade: SuperMax Platinum (1)
Post-shave: warm water rinse, cold water rinse, alum block, witch hazel
A/S: RazoRock La Famiglia Don Marco A/S balm
    Moisturizer: L'Oreal Men's Expert Vita Lift w/ SFP 15

Not to bad of a shave today. I did 3-passes and ended up just shy of BBS. I tried what Steve has been doing for the last week and lathered right over my TSD ISZ PSB and I have to say I felt like I had a bit more glide this morning with that stuff underneath my lather. I was kind of indifferent as to the SuperMax blade. I wasn't great, but it wasn't horrible either. We will see what day two with it is like. This was my first day using the RazorRock La Famiglia Don Marco soap and wow what a scent! If you like orange creamsicle, then you will like this. What more can I say about the performance of this soap, it's just plain fantastic. Have a great day everyone!

Discovered one bonus of bowl lathering today. If I heat the mug up in the water with the brush I get a warmer lather than I can get face lathering.

Edit: Hummmm.....Looks like everything is working now so here's the pic!

The Fatip's quality seems to be on par with the Merkur's as far as fit and finish, about mid-range, not the worst but not a good as Muhle/EJ. I have never used a Merkur Slant or any other slant razor for that matter as comparison but the performance of the Fatip is outstanding! Yesterday was my second shave with it using a feather blade and today I can hardly find any stubble to shave. The feel was aggressive but, not everly aggressive. I would call it "edgie" with a feather blade. This razor commands respect when shaving with it to not over-do as you can definitely feel the blade edge on the skin but, it gave me one of the closest shaves I have had in a long time! I had absolutely not nicks, cuts or burn whatsoever, just smooth slick skin! I would have to say the Fatip is fast becoming one of my favorite razors. I have ordered the Fatip Piccolo in Nickle finish and I'm looking forward to giving it a try as well. It has the same head but the nickle finish hopefully will be nicer.

    Soap: Arko Stick (first use)
    Brush: Omega 599 Silvertip
Razor: '56 Gillette Red Tip SS
    Blade: Astra SP (3)
    A/S: Pinaud Clubman

2+ passes and a had a wonderful BBS shave. At first I wasn't sure about the Arko having never tried a stick and I wasn't crazy about the smell. I found that after lathering it the smell mellows out a bit and is actually quite pleasant, and of course it lathers like crazy! Overall it was a very comfortable shave and Arko will definitely be on my buy again list.

    Bruce,

Couldn't have said it better. The Fatip is great with a Feather blade in it. I feel the same way about mine.

3 days straight with La Famiglia and my appreciation for these soaps is only growing. I can't believe how soft they leave my face feeling. The only thing I can knock these soaps on so far is that they aren't extremely moisturizing. In my book though, a soaps job is not to moisturize and that's what I have a high quality AS for. This is about the only way that I can tell this is a veggie formulation instead of tallow. Tallow based soaps give my skin a bit more moisture before the AS is applied. The sandalwood scent was ok. Not bad but not something I'd replace once finished either.

Jamie, I hope you don't find this too awkward or uncomfortable, but.................................I'm in love with your razor. I want to steal it and run far away together, just the two of us. Oh, we would be so happy together. Better keep it locked up. ;)
