Today's shave was to test my technique & see where I stood. Been DE shaving for 3 months now. SO, I used what I first began with: Razor: Edwin Jagger 89L Blade: CVS Brand el-cheapo type! Cream: Proraso Brush: Van Der Hagen Boar POST SHAVE: Thayer's Rose Scented Witch Hazel Aquavelva Ice Blue Baby Butt Smooth!!! I used this blade in particular because I used them for a week and threw the rest away because I thought they were to blame for my face being chewed up. The blade DO kinda stink, you DO have to do touching up after 3 passes, but I got baby butt smooth with a crap blade in what I call my billy goat EJ. That thing will use any blade w. no problem! I used a grocery store blade & got as good a shave as I've had w. top quality blades~!!!! Rock on!!!
After nearly 3 years of DE shaving and trying 30+ blades, I have recently found the Gillette 7OC Blacks are my favourite for a super sharp and smooth blade which gives me 5 shaves. Feathers give 4 and everything else 2-3 so I am very happy to have found the blade for me.

Thank you for your nice comments, gentlemen. I cannot say a lot to this vintage razor. The german manufacturer is unknown. The only mark i found means, that it was produced in the time from ? till 1944.
