    Friday Morning:

*First time using items in BOLD

    Hot Shower/Hot Towel
    1966 Gillette Flare Tip SS
    Personna Red Pack (Shave #1)
    Tweezerman Deluxe
    La Toja SC
    Pinaud Clubman Bay Rum A/S
    TSD AS Milk
    Preferred Stock

First of all, the lather I got from the La Toja was out of control. Probably some of the best lather I've ever generated. The scent is interesting, smelled like dirt at first but then started to grow on me and smell pretty nice. The Red Pack Personna performed pretty well also. The strange thing was that during the shave, things didn't feel right, but when it was all said and done, my face looked and felt fantastic. Great shave today.

Result: A good shave. The skin scraping is still carrying over, but at least I didn't make matters worse. I one-passed today, and it felt fairly good. Hopefully this will be enough of a break for my skin for the next few days to heal up.

    Nice pic ;)

I'm telling you, your irritations will linger until you get some cortisone cream.

I remember waiting a week after I started using a DE and skin-scraping, then using a disposable and getting the red marks and discomfort back as soon as the razor ran over the trouble spots.

Steroids on your face can be dangerous though.

    Friday:

    Plisson 18 HMW
Art of Shaving Lavender Shaving Soap
Gillette No. 58 with Gillette "Swede" Blade
Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel w/ 15% grain alcohol
    TSD Lavender Milk
    Czech & Speake No. 88

This was my first go with the recently acquired Gillette 58. It did not disappoint -- it delivered a relatively mild but close shave. And...it's a beautiful razor!

As I posted in the Shave School, the blade performed pretty badly and the resulting shave was not as smooth as usual. I'll just put it down to a dud blade and use another new one for my next shave.
