Hot Shower 1966 Gillette Slim Adjustable (slammed to 9 of course) Omega Boar VDH Deluxe Ivy Club/VIBR Polo Black
I've been seduced...I've been looking all over Istanbul looking for MENTHOL stuff...A barber hipped me to a barbar depot district where I should be able to find anything . he says, and I have a call out to P&G, and they are supposed to get back to me on where in town I can pick up Noxema Menthol...Man I don't want to miss another Menthol Monday...) Today's shave : Hot Shower Hot towel treatment-1 1/2 mins. Arko shave stick 1965 Gillette Slim Perma-Sharp Super (2) Cold Water Arko "cool" AS cream For the last couple weeks I've been on a mission...trying all the different settings for 3 or 4 pass shaves...I must be exhausting my repertoire of normal combinations ex.:3/5/7 or 5/7/9 etc etc...So this morning ended up being pretty extreme : #1/1/1/3. Maybe closest shave with absolutly NO irritation, that I've ever gotten ) Used no pressure, just need to be really conscious of the angle,...Major BBS, and skin feels great...) Maybe I've been in #9 land too long...#9's cool, but right now my face sure feels great...I'll take a couple more days like this, and see how it works over time.

Happy Wednesday from Florida! Hot Shower Hot Towel 1966 Gillette Adjustable Slim (set on 3/5/7) Gillette 7 O'clock Super Stainless (green pack, 2nd shave) Sabi Badger Arko Citrus SC Florida Water 3 passes WTG, XTG, ATG. I could not go for a 4th pass due to irritation so I give this shave 3 blades; I need to work on getting my preferred setting figured out. The last pass produced several weepers so I am sure that 7 is too aggressive. First shave with the Arko SC. First shave using SC period. This is a nice cream. It whipped up very thick and slick. I can't wait to try the Arko shave stick that my pal 1OLDGI is firing off to me! I have read about some brushes having a stink on them and my new Sabi badger is no exception...whew! Gamey to the max! But this will go away after a few days so I have read. Happy shaving!

Thursday: Hot towel Arko Shave Stick Banat "Perfect" Boar brush 1965 Slim/Perma-Sharp Super (3) Arko Cool AS Cream Bulgari Blue-Notte I know I said I was going for the low-impact, soft shave today like yesterdays using the lowest settings...Well I did a 2 pass 9/9 shave but it really was a low impact, soft, irritation free shave. I give it a 5 blade rating...feels great and definitely BBS I rechecked out a couple of Marks videos last night, and I realized my angle has shifted a little...made the adjustment and made my lather a little wetter, and todays shave is proof that little things mean alot; thanks Mark...)

Thursday. Slim at #9 Derby (day1) Preshave (Castor, Grapeseed, Olive) Arko/Williams Super Lather Tweezerman Badger Superior 70 A 4 pass BBS with little touch-up. My preshave oil is my own blend: castor, olive, and grapeseed: 3/1/1 (+ lavender for scent). For me this works better than the commonly posted 2/1- caster/olive blend. I found that boosting the castor softens the whiskers better, and adding some grapeseed preps the skin more. When this mix is done I intend to try just castor/grapeseed 3/1. A couple other posters in the past mentioned this oil combo was their optimum. Have a good one boys!
